My only hope is that it was the Padres that finally caved and not the White Sox.

The Cubs won more playoff games with Quintana than the Sox did with Eloy and Cease.

Padres #5 and #8 prospects. No Salas. Underwhelming return.

Nobody really wanted Cease like Nobody really wants Fields

Send Thorpe and Iriate to KC for some seasoning and now we're talkin'

Winning seven games with a 4 1/2 ERA when you’re supposed to be a stud starter will do that.

Imagine if Theo was able to develop pitching and Cease was a top of a line starter for the Cubs. That Stroman money could have been spent elsewhere. Pretty poor.

Padres twitter is saying this is somewhere between a good haul and a Sox fleecing.

Man the Sox pitching staff this year. Yikes. It is going to be bad bad.

Welp, looks like Sox may not compete this year.

Was Fields part of this package?

Yes, but the Sox traded for the wrong player again and got Coach Ronnie Fields.

Sox got a Tanner, a Prelander, and a Touki coming out of the pen this year.

I'm changing my projection for the Sox to 98 wins.

Salas is about as untouchable as they come. A 17 year old defensively solid catcher who can hit?

Three legitimate prospects and a throw in reliever. And now Getz doesn't have to worry that Cease will either suck or have his elbow fall off between now and late July.

This is a better return than Preller gave the Cubs for Darvish and Caratini. That time most of the prospects were in the 11-15 range.

Zavala, outfielder, lots of Ks. I'm tired of lots of Ks. Pitcher Thorpe good stats. Pitcher Jairo Iriarte good stats. All A players last year.

Doesn't seem like a lot.

The good news is that these prospects have noted baseball gurus Grifol and Katz to help develop them.

Thorpe and Iriarte both finished last year at AA. Iriarte is probably a reliever in the long run.

I'm looking forward to seeing Zavala at Winston-Salem this spring. But he's a long way off.
