At this point the Sox are so reviled by the fans, I don't think signing Bauer could make it any worse. Sure, the progressive feminists on White Sox Twitter would go out of their minds like they did with LaRussa, but so what?

Claims he's sitting at 96-98, 99 occasionally on his fast-ball pitching against Dodger prospects in a back-lot ST exhibition featuring Asian-league players vs Dodger ST also-rans:

Dunno if you can put much stock in a hand-held spring training gun tho.

Yankees claim to want nothing to do with Bauer even with Cole's injury; which who they Steve Howe crappin'.

I guess proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that a grifter came at him hard is not enough to get uncancelled. He should be a sympathetic figure, not reviled.

Sign him and then ask the media why they shouldn't have?

wrong time, wrong place. LA at the ass-end of the height of meh 2, too high profile. Probably could've gotten away with a 30 game suspension and still pitched in the playoffs that year in Toronto, Kansas City or Houston.

America loves a redemption arc, but MLB also needs a trophy me-too scalp to trot out next time a player done wrongs a woman. Otherwise they'll have to donate millions to womyn's groups, record PSA's about no-means-no-not-anal and wear pink-jockstraps for an extra month or whatever.

Reason enough to sign him.

He’d walk in as the best pitcher on the team. Sign him for that reason alone and flip him at the deadline.

They can also just bring Clevinger back. He won't put up a sub 4.00 era season, but he'd still probably be the valedictorian of this group.

If the goal is to tank, why would they sign any decent pitching. 100+ losses is the goal. F the fans.

Tanking can't get them a top 10 pick next year:

Therefore, other than not spending money, it seems pointless.

Do you guys not read Caller Bob posts? He's been shouting this from the roof tops. I think it's the most exciting thing to ever to happen to him.

I usually read the post after Caller Bob posts--that post is usually the one where he is made to look like an idiot.

If the White Sox were ever going to sign Bauer, tonight would be the time to do it, right after Fields is finally traded.

Sign him and have him pitch Opening Day, and nobody will notice.

His agent over-sold his performance, 4 hits + 2 walks / 3 = 2.0 WHIP.

Bauer pitching out of jams/runners on situations well (after creating the jam). Bullpen arm? That leg-kick pause thing Bauer developed recently and mixes in on occasion more effective once through the order vs hitters seeing him 3+ times in a game and picking up on his tells.

He would be hands-down, the best pitcher on the White Sox right now if they signed him.
