Drafted 5th overall. Seems to be a 20yr old lefty pitcher. I do not know any more.

I am trying to look up how fast he throws.

He was really good this season, until their NCAA game vs Kansas St where he sucked.

He should fetch a decent haul when he is traded in 2030

His 17.3 strikeouts per nine innings made him one of the most feared pitchers in college baseball, and he struck out nearly five batters for every one he walked in his third collegiate season.

I was happy they didn't take Caglianone, but I would have liked to see them take Wetherholt.

How come? The ESPN guys were drooling over him last night.

I heard since they were able to get to 70 losses before the all star break that they get the 1st and 2nd pick next year.

I don't think he's going to pitch and he has low positional value in that he doesn't play up the middle. That will be all well and good if he hits 30 homeruns a year, but we've heard that thing before and it hasn't come to fruition. I don't want another Andrew Vaughn/Eloy Jimenez.

In the plan for "Project 2025" the Sox SHOULD get the first pick in the 2026 daft.

Why not the 2025 draft?

That all makes sense. He really looks like he's going to be a heck of a hitter, though. But I suppose that's true of a lot of failed prospects, as you pointed out.

As long as the current ownership won't pay pitching talent, he won't play more than 5-6 seasons with the White Sox if he establishes himself as a front-line starter.

With Crochet likely being traded for 2, maybe 3, young players who will be highly regarded, this cycle won't stop until/unless the White Sox decide to act like a big market team.

Probably not realistic to expect if they keep current ownership.

They will pick no higher than 10th next draft.

Anti tanking rules prohibit large market teams from picking in the top ten in consecutive years regardless of final record.

Sox can’t even get historically awful right.

Wait…what?

How will this impact the Sox draft pick next year?

Next year? Looks like they'll get the #1.

Not under the new rules. Not in the top ten.

I won't believe this until Caller Bob confirms it.
