This guy is an absolutely elite hitter. I guarantee the Sox have no clue how valuable he is. They should write his name down at DH (or at first once Abreu is gone) and you're set there for a long time. Instead I'm gonna guess they give him away in a trade and you'll see him as a perennial All-Star in some place like Oakland.

He’s got a chance. I’m highly skeptical of your first sentence.

Come on JORR. If a Cub fan said this about a player you would be all over it. No way anyone can tell in this small sample size that he is elite and a perennial all star

The difference is the Sox fan automatically assumes the player will be playing for someone else when he’s elite.

I can relate.

Do I say this kind of shit often, RFDC? I'm not saying it about Jimenez or Robert or Moncada. I'm saying it about a guy you can see hitting the ball and also looking at his advanced numbers. I don't know how Minnesota let this guy go. It's like David Ortiz all over again. But like I said, I have serious doubts the Sox recognize what they have.

Let's not go nuts. I love Palka but there's no way of knowing he's an elite hitter yet.

I get what you are saying but I dont think it would matter if someone said this stuff often you would still be all over it. Guess we will find out how good your eye is....

He's ok,but his ceiling is far lower than David Bote's.

Agree the Sox will usually do the dumb thing over the smart thing given a choice, especially with the current dumbasses in charge.

To start with his exit velocity is among the best in the game.

You're ready to enshrine a guy hitting under two fiddy with a negative war. What kind of baseball do you watch?

In his last 3 games, he's hitting .687 with 4HR and 12 RBI.

Turned the corner.

My guess is the kind that doesn’t dismiss someone slugging .473 in his first 56 MLB games as someone who can’t ever be good and even the idea is worthy of being scorned at.

Just a guess.

Not saying he can't ever be good. Saying elite hitter is silly as fuck at this point.

 Is that a real quote from me? I don't think that's a comp I would have used. But honestly, he probably won't end up a whole lot different. Rizzo did get his Cub World Series though, so that's something.
