At this point....missing 40 wins is entirely possible, but I do think that's where they'll land. 38 wins ties them with the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics for worst losing percentage int he modern era. It's nice to know they look as bas as their record shows. |

Sox tied the franchise record for losses in a season with an entire month left to go. An interesting wrinkle in all this is that there's a sad symmetry with 2005, as I believe they've been a wire-to-wire last-place team. |
