Went to Princeton so he'll be a good bright side bs artist. White Sox I'm sure got him dirt cheap. Likely to be in the bottom 10 White Sox managers worst winning %. Must figure take job worst organization in baseball with bleak future or never get a chance. Was Theo's water boy. Another ex player's son bad player himself gets MLB jobs for life. |

He went to Texas to be Bochy's manager in waiting. I guess Bochy told him he's not planning on retiring anytime soon. Venable can do 3 years here and then move into a AGM role somewhere if he doesn't find another gig. I get Jeff Torborg vibes from this hire, without the prospect pipeline that those teams had. |

The White Sox are getting positive reviews for hiring him. I don't know much about him, but I am pretty confident he'll look like an idiot if the talent doesn't improve. |

In some ways, its a no lose position. They won't lose MORE games than last year....right? It would be pretty easy to be shitty and still have the biggest win increase in the league. |
