Hello there,

I recently moved to Chicago and am excited to immerse myself in the local sports culture. Growing up; I followed my hometown teams religiously; but now that I am here, I want to embrace everything this city has to offer. The passion Chicagoans have for their teams is contagious.

That said; I am not sure where to start. I know the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, Sox, and Blackhawks all have die hard followings; and I am open to rooting for any team. Are there certain games or events I should prioritize attending to really experience what it is like to be a Chicago fan? For example, is it worth braving the cold for a Bears game at Soldier Field; or should I catch a Blackhawks game at the United Center to soak in the electric hockey atmosphere?

I am also curious about the best places to watch games if I do not make it to the stadiums. Are there any iconic sports bars or spots where fans gather that you would recommend?

Lastly; if anyone has tips on Chicago sports traditions or inside jokes that might go over my head; I would love to learn about those too. I want to fit in and avoid looking like a clueless outsider when cheering alongside lifelong fans.
