My God Man! U Get to Nothing! Slow no longer describes your reactions to pop flys and balls to the hole! He doesn't even get close enough anymore to dive and make it look like he is trying.

Don't we have anyone in the minors even able to field at the ML level?

Uribe has been terrible this season, and I highly doubt the team uses the option it has on him for about $5 million next season. Saying that, there is not a SS in the minors who can step in, and if they keep it internal, the job would be Alex Cintron's, who did hold the job in Arizona earlier in his career. That's hardly an answer though, but I don't believe the list of free agent SS is that good. Perhaps, they let Uribe go, and find a cheap defensive SS to play with Cintron (that could even be Uribe as I can't believe many teams would be clamoring for a .220 hitter who looks to have lost a step defensively. Then again, why would we want that?). My conclusion is don't look for a very good SS to be on the White Sox next season, even if we let Uribe become a free agent, and, no, I don't see the White Sox shelling out $25-$30 million a season for Alex Rodriguez.

BTW, he just made an excellent play defensively picking a runner off 2nd on an infield hit....

He has the passion and the fire arms!

Don't you guys have a rookie named Gonzalez who is currently on the roster who played SS in AAA?

Yeah, Andy Gonzalez...they have playing everywhere but SS as Uribe seems to unbenchable. He's ok, but not a player I'd want to entrust the job too, probably not even share it.

The frightening thing is that unless I am mistaken, the best SS the Sox farm system has produced over the last 40+ years has been Bucky "f-ing" Dent.

Uribe has come into each of the last two seasons overweight and unfocused. I could live with his hitting and horrible OBP if he was still superior defensively. A great fielding shortstop who can hit 20 HRs has value. Unfortunately, he no longer seems to be a great fielder.

It is nearly impossible for a guy to have as low of an OBP as he has had over the last 2 years.

He was a Padres farm product before he came to the White Sox.
