During the most recent Sox game, Farmer used the excuse 3 times of the 'Grass not being cut right' as why the Sox players did not get to a few balls?

Something about Roger Bossard being in Chicago, meant he did not oversee the way the grass was cut before the game.

Farmer said he didn't want use it as excuse, but when he mentions it 3 times, it is an excuse Eddio! You pompastically challenged name dropping A hole.

To actually use it as an excuse for not performing well in a Spring Training game, based on the way the grass was cut was a level of sucking up to the "Homer" angle that goes beyond anything I have ever heard.

That's not what he did. He made an observation about the state of the field and how it can affect balls in play. He never said that the field forced an error and all White Sox fielders are perfect. Nor did he suggest that when Sox players make an error, it must be due to external factors.

Relax. Let's not make an issue because you have nothing else to do.

I will ALWAYS be first in line to make fun of farmer, but thats not what he said SoxSuckUpFest. For some reason I had their game on and while I found the conversation of the field condition somewhat puzzling, he never blamed the sox poor spring record on it. He blamed it on the god hating the white sox......

Hey, who was that comedian from like 15 years ago that did the bit on athletes thanking God for helping them perform well, but never blaming Him when they failed?

"Jesus made me fumble, he hates our team!"

Ranger, have you heard anything about the Massett/Wassermann situation? Wassermann has clearly outpitched Massett but it's only the 7th bullpen spot and don't want to see Massett leave the organization. What do you think the odds are that he clears waivers?

Ed Farmer. He's still around I think.

I'll start with a sidenote as I sit here in Tucson International Airport. The TSA people are all sitting down. All of them. And they're nowhere near the screening equipment. I feel good about this.

I haven't heard anything officially, but before this week I would have figured Masset would get the last spot. He seemed to be the guy most likely to spot start or pitch in long relief if necessary...even though he hasn't been good this spring. However, overall his body of work isn't that great even though it's a limited sample. Wassermann has simply pitched better even though he hasn't done very well with lefties. I suppose someone like Thornton or MacDougal could pitch in long relief but Wassermann is not that person.

My guess is Ehren makes the team, but who knows?

That would be Jeff Stilson. I think he wrote for comedy central or mad tv or something like that. I watch to much tv to know this crap...

I see that Tim Lahey was claimed by the Phillies. If this guy couldn't get through waivers I don't see how Masett would slip through. It sucks for Wassermann but I hope they keep Massett. He's too young and has too good an arm to give up for nothing.

Maybe we could "hide" Masset on the DL with a bogus injury? Carpal tunnel syndrome from reading this forum, anyone?
