Finish the sentence

I'm a Sox fan but I really can't help but like/respect _________ on the Cubs.

Posting the opposite on the Cubs side.

For the record I named Thome, Konerko and Buerhle on the Sox.

And I know you're all anxious to know this, but I am impressed by your guys so far.

I've always admired and acknowledged the way the Tribune Corporation was able to market their product to such a frenzied demand without having to actually produce a winner, or even a consistent contender.

I've been impressed with how they were able to transform a depressed and blighted part of Chicago into a top tourist destination via their (then) superstation cable apperatus and renowned (retread) pitchman Harry Caray.

And of their fans, nobody exhibits such a quicker undying love nor a fleetingly shorter memory/attention span when it comes to players wearing the "C". Today's glimmers are tomorrow's stars and will be next week's heels or villains.

Am I being overly sarcastic? Eddie Einhorn tried to duplicate the Tribune and alienated a significant segment of the team's fanbase. The new ballpark has been continually revamped in order to maintain the fanbase, and the team's "voice" truly has a face for radio. As for the players, we dismiss hall of famers (Baines), potential hall of famers (Thomas) and figure whatever young talent the team has today will seek a deserved payday somewhere's else come tomorrow, all with the same degree of casual fervor.

Oh wait, reading is a skill and I didn't know you wanted to limit the discussion just to this year's players. Sorry, your best either produced for someone else in the past, will produce for someone else in the future, or are just overpaid/outbidded today.

Still, I've always admired the Tribune for spending and earning like a winner.
