Horrible call by the ump. Jeez. I don't know how he didn't see that. Guy put his elbow out to be hit. Hawk said he should ask for help. Shouldn't need to. He had the best view. A.J clearly saw it.

Bad run down. Pablo is to blame. No reason why he had to rush in like that.

Vasquz pitches out of it. Nice. That could have been a huge inning for the Rays with two guys reaching that shouldn't have.

See guys, that's an example of a good solo home run. When Konerko hits a solo shot right after Thome hits a 3 run shot.

Ozzie should get Anderson some at bats in this blow out.

Jeez, Vasquez is getting run support this year. 11 last game. 9 and counting today. He doesn't need them either cuz he pitched shut outs both times.

5th time this year Sox have scored 7 or more runs. Big difference from last April. Konerko and Thome are batting below .200 for this as well. Good sign. You know they're gonna come out of that.

Stone's off tonite or maybe he s breaking on the radio broadcast. Who's subbing now? Its not Ranger.

That would be voice of the WNBA SKY, Eric Collins.

Stone is off for the Jewish Holidays

Maybe the Ranger is Jewish?

This team needs to learn how to get the out when a runner is caught in a pickle.

Game 2

It really is amazing how they don't know how to do a run down. Hawk and DJ are right.

I remember learning this shit in little league. It's too many throws, plus they come off the bag way to far. Twice they've done that in this series. DJ is right. These can be done, most of the time, in no more than 2 throws.

2 throws at max, and if the runner is going to be safe, it best fucking be at the base he left from.

Its also clear the Rays don't get out of the way when a breaking ball is thrown at them. So maybe somebody on Tampa needs to take a fastball square in the back.

I agree, two throws at most. They're right about that. One thing I can't understand is why Hawk was so incredulous about the hit by pitch. He couldn't understand why a 3-hitter would accept the HBP. You always take the base, especially in the second inning, and what has happened is why.

Yeah. You got it Frank.

They get 3 runs because of a bad run down. Jeez.

By the way, they are all earned runs for Buehrle. A screwed up run down isn't an error. It's just considered a stolen base.

Great, the scrub lineup. Between that and Buerhle's lack of location, I don't have much confidence in the Sox winning tonite-- especially after just spotting the Rays 3 runs. Hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.

If they're going to throw a 75 MPH nothing-ball, why should he get out of the way? It's not like he was leaning over the plate on that. It's just the danger of throwing junk inside.

Not to mention this Rays pitcher looks tough.

Why are there bells, whistles, and/or horns right when our pitchers are about to release the ball? They're doing it today and it happened yesterday too.

It's annoying the hell out of me. Ozzie should ask them to stop. They're obvioulsy doing it to distract opposing pitchers.

Maybe it's to make up for the fact that there's only about 7,000 people in the stands. I feel bad for them. I think I'm going to adopt Tampa Bay as my AL team.

They are building a beautiful new park there. I still don't think people will come to the games.

This Tampa team does a lot of little things right. The one guy legged out the triple. The other guy ran out the whole rundown and didn't get lazy. That last batter ran out the dropped third strike immediately.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone's name. I'm going to have to work on that if I'm going to be the Rays' representative on CSFMB.

The franchise record for wins for the Rays is 70. The only team that could draw a lot of fans and W-L records like that is the Cubs.

I think the annoying foghorns are being done by the fans, not the Rays PA system.

Ok fine. Then somebody from Rays security needs to take that foghorn and beat the shit out of the guy.

They'll blow by that this year.

I agree. It seems like everytime the Sox play a nite game in Oakland, there's some jagoff that has a foghorn as well.

I don't think it's effecting Buehrle. Didn't effect Vasquez yesterday. Funny, I didn't mind it yesterday when we were blowing them out. Now it's bugging me.

Still, if they want to be a respected franchise they need to stop that shit. Besides the horn they have bells and whistles too.

Another thing. I don't want to hear Roberto Hernandez and stories about him raising his kids. I don't care.

If I here one more athlete say "I retired to spend more time with my family." I'm gonna go nuts.

By the way Reberto, that was not the case with you. You retired cuz you suck and nobody wanted you.

These loses don't hurt. We just got beat today. Yeah, the run down hurt. We still would have lost without it.

This kid pitcher for Tampa was awesome.

The good thing was it was quick. A two hour game.

You sir as about as sharp as a beach ball. Did any of us make an excuse about the Sox losing last nite?

Beardown certainly did not, and nor did I. That Rays' pitcher had an excellent game and the Sox were beat, plain and simple.

DDD. I admitted in that quote of mine that the horn had no effect on the game. I said the Rays pitcher was awesome and we had no chance. I said the Sox were pathetic for messing up that run down.

I even sarcastically said that "I didn't mind the horn when we blew them out in game one." I just found it annoying when we were losing. The horn had nothing to do with why we lost.

The horn was annoying, that was the gist of it. Thats not making excuses. If you think it is, you're wrong plain and simple.

Danks has looked excellent overall this season, good to see him off to a promising start. Also good to see the Sox continue to score runs. Thome has had a big day, and he was due.
