Looks like A Rod will miss todays game with a strained quad. I like seeing him play against the Sox. On the other hand, I like that the Sox have a better chance to win with him out.

We face Wang today. He had a rare bad game his last outing. Jose goes for us.

ARod's wife gave birth to their second daughter today. He's in Florida with her. NY Daily News said he won't be back until Thursday's game. Combo of resting the quad and being with his wife.

Is it his?

Author:  Beardown [ Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:41 pm ]
Post subject:

Probably.

Reading the article I found it facinating that his wife is 2 years older than him. She's 34. He's 32.

You know he's gonna divorce her. Or she'll divorce him. I'm just shocked he didn't grab a younger one for the first wife. Don't get me wrong. She's pretty. But you have a longer shelf life, obviously, with a younger one.

I guess it doesn't matter. He'll grab a 25 year old after the divorce. Plus, he's banging anything he wants right now anyway.

Post subject:

Yeah, don't forget the last part. Plus, divorces cost money.

Besides, I'd probably go with the 34-year old if she's as hot as a 25 year old,, all things being equal. It's like drafting a college pitcher over a high school pitcher. The high might not be as high, but you know she can go for a while as you see she's aging well and she's not going to flame out like the young one might. A well-aging woman can pay returns well into her 50s.

Author:  Beardown [ Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:49 pm ]
Post subject:

True. He'll get rid of her long before she hits her 50's however.

Jeter has been doing this thing right. He's not married. Never has been. Banging everything in sight. No kids. He knows to use birth control. He doesn't have to hide or sneak his women around. Nothing wrong with being seen with women when you're single.

He'll retire and marry a 22 year old when he's 50. That's perfect. He'll be senile or dead by the time she loses her looks.

It always shocks me that more star athletes don't do it like Jeter. His life is perfect, while playing ball, with no complications at all.

That would be a good line, but I'm not wasting my time writing a song about the fucking yankees.

Honestly, get a life. If you are an ex marine like you claim to be, you're a true embarassment to the armed forces of our nation.

Anybody hear Stone making fun of OOribe's lack of plate discipline? I think it was the 4th inning. The 1st batter flew out on the 1st pitch. 2nd batter flew out on the 2nd pitch. Next up was Uribe. They were making bets on if he would swing at the 1st pitch. He actually saw 2-0 which Stone said was the 1st time he ever saw a 2-0 pitch. It was pretty funny.

Wang has got to be getting tired. We should get him here in the 6th. If not - keep in mind - the Yanks have former Cubs Kyle Farnsworth and Latroy Hawkins. I want those guys in.

Cross your fingers, knock on wood, but heading into the 7th inning, Contreras has gotten the job done against the vaunted Yankees.

Are the Yankees still vaunted? Im much more worried about Boston this year and in the near future.

The way the media hypes them up, I think they are seen as better than they actually are. This is more of a rebuilding year for them as they are depending on some younger pitching, albeit some very talented young pitching.

And...as I was patting Jose Contreras on the back, he walks a batter in the 7th, and now the White Sox are in some serious trouble.

I'll take our club over the Yanks.

OD needs to get a DP against Derick Je.

2-0 count was the reason for that.

I was hoping he wouldn't have a letdown after striking out Jeter.

Yanks win Game 1.

Gotta figure Wang is out. We have to get them in the 7th I think. They have a kid set up guy for the 8th. He's pretty good. That's the guy Hank Steinburg wants to have as a starter.

Mariano in the 9th. Although, the Sox have hit him a little in the past. He didn't always blow saves but we've hit him.

Hopefully Latroy pitches the 7th.

Billy Traiber. Never heard of him. Has a 2.7 ERA in 8 innings.
