Today marks Paul Konerko's tenth year of big league service time. Happy anniversary Paul! Konerko's spent more than the last five seasons with the White Sox; as a result, he's a 10-and-5 player. He can now veto any trade, and sees himself staying in Chicago at least for the length of his current deal (through 2010).

There were some rumblings in the winter that the Angels might make a play for Konerko, but Kenny Williams denied any trade discussions.

Congrats Paulie! Not only am I looking forward to watching you play out the next 2+ years of this contract I'm hoping you sign another contract to be the teams 1B/DH and end your career as a White Sox (hopefully with another WS ring or two).

Well, he'll veto any trade this year. I don't think Kenny was gonna trade him this year anyway.

It doesn't mean he can't be traded. He just has to agree to it and not veto the trade.

I'll bet he'll agree to go to Arizona, San Diego, Angels, or Dodgers if they get a deal in the off season. He's got 2 years left on his contract after this year.

He lives in Arizona and I think would go to all of those West Coast teams.

His #14 will be the next number retired after No's 13 and 35.

Probably they will retire it. I'm thinking he has a good shot to get to 400 homers. Maybe he can get to 450 although that's a reach. He has 281 as we speak and he just turned 32. (274 HR with the Sox. 7 HR with the Reds and Dodgers before we got him.)

Still, with the steroid era over, 400 is an achievement again. I think we're all sure that Paulie never did steroids.

He's 2nd already on the Sox all time homer list. Frank holds the Sox record at 448.

Come on now....if they are looking to retire numbers, you have to think that #33 will be the first one to go up. He had the fire AND the passion!

Its too bad Quentin had to take #20. I figure they were all set to retire that for Hebert Perry, The Milkman, before Quentin stole it.

It wouldn't have been Perry you crazy fan. It would have been a handsome man.

Wait, aren't you ripping off the Dubya statue idea here, Frank?
