For all the promos I've heard regarding the new White Sox radio broadcast of Ed Farmer & Steve Stone on 670 "The SCORE", Steve will be conspicously absent from Safeco Field this weekend in Seattle when the Sox start a 10 game road trip vs. the Mariners. In addition to Laurence Holmes pinch hitting for Chris Rongey on the Friday & Saturday night pre & postgame on the White Sox Radio Network, former Sox third baseman Robin Ventura will pinch hit for Stone as the Guest Analyst. I'm not sure why Steve is off this weekend, and I was scratching my head when Eric Collins pinch hit for Steve in St. Petersburg, FL for the weekend series the Sox played the (formerly Devil) Rays.

Stone probably agreed to this Sox gig with some conditions.

-He probably told them he'll do it if he can miss a couple of road trips.
