Im not feeling great about Vazquez tonight. They seem to be hitting him hard early, although only 1 run to show for it.

Wasted opportunity in the top of the first getting them loaded with no outs and only squeezing one run out of it.

I dont feel like looking this up, but Im pretty sure the Sox have to be near the top of MLB in hitting into double plays

It's pretty depressing watching their offense. I wonder where they stack up in % of runs scoring coming from home runs.

Sox were actually 5th in the AL in GDP category with 45. Blue Jays were tops at 60. Overall they were tied for 9th.

For AB/H, they were 3rd lowest in the league at 28.1 AB/Hr. You have to assume the runs per home run are similar. Despite being 4th in MLB in HR's, their Slugging percentage was 14th and their OPS was 16th.

Is Carlos Quentin gonna be an All Star this year?

I'd prefer to wait on that before comparing numbers. I'm sure OF's will have quite a few names to pick from.

Damn as much as I like Swisher, I was really hoping that one would get over the fence.

Typical White Sox offense... get the leadoff man on base, then 2 minutes later there is 2 outs and nobody on.

Unless they hit a homer, it's very difficult for them to score. I think they've met their match though in Cleveland.

Nice to see some runs here in the 12th again. The offense continues its season-long struggle with hitting with RISP, but you gotta love the pitching once again. Im kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop on the pitching, but Im not sure it will, and theres no way Swisher, Paulie, and Thome will hit .200 for the season.

Big win. Gotta take this division series, and keep beating the Injuns when they're down. Hopefully 2 of 3 in Cleveland and no worse than a split in Tampa.

I'm not as concerned with the pitching because nobody is really being overworked. Hitting is my main concern, but obviously that can change if Gavin Floyd, John Danks and Jose Contreras start sucking, but I'm worried about the batting averages of some of these Sox hitters. I know they will eventually improve, but to .250, .260?

Shit, if our pitching holds up and we start hitting .260 as opposed to .243, we'll be fine[/wanny]

The Sox are in first, and the pitching has been awesome so far, but the hitting has clearly let this team down. There is no reason for the Sox not to have 30 wins already with the good starts that they've wasted.

It'd be nice to see our worst starting pitcher continue the good starting pitching trend.

Wishful thinking. Thats about enough of this game, guess it'll be the Cubs on the tube till the Lakers game starts.

You know, outside of a small handful of starts, Buehrle has pitched like a total asshole since throwing that no hitter last year.

Its time for Swisher to ride the pine for a week too. He is now UNDER .200. Put Anderson out in CF everyday for the rest of this roadtrip.

They are making Jake Westbrook look a HoF even though he's missed time with a bad back.

Every time Carlos Quentin goes up to the plate, it is a reminder of the fact that Kenny Williams, is by far, by the best GM in Chicago since Jerry Krause. Add in the pitching staff as compared to who was shipped out of town(McCarthy and Garcia) and he continues to amaze us.
