Hey there Sox fans...By now you've heard about Orlando Cabrera complaining to the press box at both U.S. Cellular Field & in Toronto about errors that he felt should've been overturned in games earlier this season, and the likelihood he won't be back beyond this season. You also know how sick I am of Juan Uribe, in part because of 2 boneheaded base running gaffes that cost the Sox a game earlier this season vs. the Blue Jays and how maddening a hitter he can be at times. With Alexei Ramirez playing a good defensive second base and hitting the ball very well since Uribe hurt his hamstring, what does Ozzie Guillen do with these three infielders once #5 is activated from the disabled list? As much as I would like to see Uribe outta here completely, here's one idea...Shift Uribe back to shortstop, keep Ramirez at second, and bench Cabrera if he keeps bitchin' & moanin' to the press box.

I'd have sex with all three.

Oh, I think I misunderstood the question.

Cabrera has been playing great in the field lately, and has raised his average some 40-50 points in recent weeks. That 6 game skid in Toronto seems so long ago, I couldn't care less what he said about errors charged to him back then. Bottom line, you do NOT, under any circumstance outside of injury, play Uribe over a gold glover in OC. I'm fine with keeping the Cuban Missle at 2nd, and having Uribe be a bench player, because he can play second, short, and 3rd.

It had to do with one that's playing good (Ramirez), one's that's bitchin' about errors in the press box(Cabrera), and one that's on the DL but I want out of here so bad, but could be activated by the weekend (Uribe). I'm also the one that is preparing for the return of Danny Richar, who I still think will be on the big club before Jerry Owens, once his rib cage is healthy and ready to go. The Sox infield you see now will look vastly different real soon. You can take that to the bank, Sox fans!

Usually you make sense, Shark. On this one you don't. Richar had a bad spring, then got hurt, so he has a lot of work to do. And you say "its about one playing good." Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cabrera has been playing pretty fucking good lately. Uribe will not be back at short anytime soon, barring an injury. Even if Richar does come up, Rameirez and Ozuna are not everyday shortstops. This is the first I've heard of OC bitching about errors, but with the way he is playing lately the fact that you want to take him out of the lineup makes zero sense.

Yeah, you are correct about Richar. His spring training was cut short due to a rib cage injury and visa issues. You are also correct about Cabrera's play and his batting of late, but the stuff about him griping about errors dominated the postgame story each of the first 2 games of this series. As for Ramirez, after struggling miserably right out of the box, he's played good at second since Uribe went down. With Uribe nearly ready to return from his hamstring as soon as this Saturday, plus the friction building with Cabrera & manager Ozzie Guillen, and Ramirez's good play lately, it only seems appropriate that I ask the question about these three players. In the short term, I won't be shocked if Ramirez & Uribe split the second base duties. I maintain what I typed about the Sox infield looking different, and I didn't even mention that Joe Crede is as good as gone in my opinion. Jerry Reinsdorf will break his glasses before he bothers to negotiate with Crede's agent Scott Boras. I'm not sure how much longer Paul Konerko's contract lasts, but other than that, the Sox infield will look much different real soon. Barring a trade or two, Josh Fields will be the third baseman, Ramirez will take over at short & Richar will be the second baseman on the Southside.
