Post subject:  Sox/Cubs Pitching Probables

It doesn't really matter at this date, as the series is two weeks away, and a lot can happen (rainouts, each team has an off day), but I had a buddy at work talking about Sox/Cubs today. It got me interested in seeing the potential pitching probables. Ozzie's been known to skip starts to line up for this series, but looking at the probables, things seem to lean in the Sox favor.

At Wrigley:

Danks vs Marquis
Contreras vs Lilly
Vazquez vs Dempster

At The Cell:

Contreras vs Lilly
Vazquez vs Dempster
Buehrle vs Gallagher

This makes no difference now. Series starts 2 weeks from today. This will change, and thanks for wasting a post.

Do we only get so many?

Damn! I just wasted one.

Damn! Now that's two.

That favors us if it stays this way obviously. We miss Zambrano in both series.

The only matchup the Cubs win on paper is Vazquez vs Dempster. But not by much. That matchup happens twice.

I've got a solution. Make it 1 four game series every year. Alternate parks within the series. Two at Sox park. Two at Cubs park.
How about that?

If that's the solution, what's the problem?

Some people think 6 Cubs/Sox game is too many.

I actually like 6 games. To be honest; I misread the Doc's post. That's why I wrote it. I was responding to something that wasn't there. Sorry.

No problem, any time. Glad you wasted your time reading it.

I'd prefer it to be 5 or 7 games so theres no 3-3 tie stuff, but then again that would raise the "They had an extra home game" excuse. Im good with how it is.

As for the probables, I'll be thrilled if we miss Zambrano. I'd also be nice if Buehrle missed both series.

I didn't realize you were being mean...

The sooner these six games are finished the better.

One 3 game series a year, with alternating home fields, is more than enough.
