Post subject:  Sox vs. Tigers

I'm predicting two out of three from the lowly Tigers.

Robertson is bad (6.03 ERA) , the Sox have owned Verlander (5.05 ERA) this season, and the third game is up for grabs.

I just wish we could have had a crack at Willis! He SUCKS!

How's that Cabrera/Willis pick up working for Detroit these days?

it's too early to judge cabrera, but willis has been a major disappointment for the past few years. i think cabrera will work out long term, but the tigers mortgaged their future this offseason.

i wouldn't be so excited about facing verlander, either. he had a terrible start but he's had a few good outings over the past month. i know the sox own him, historically, but if his stuff is there it'll be a tight one, and the only game i would fear the sox losing.

Last time the Sox faced Verlander he pitched 7 innings of 1 run baseball. We scored 6 on him in the 8th.

But he does suck this year. Not just against the Sox. Baseball tonight people say he's lost some velocity. Can't get it to 98 anymore.

Comerica has been a second home for the Sox over the past several years. I would be sorely disappointed if they did not take 2 of 3, and would be a little suprised if they did not sweep. I honestly do not think there is a game the Sox should lose over the next 9...going into the Cubs series with a 16 game win streak would be sweet.

Crede has more HRs than any other opponent at Comerica. I expect 9 HRs from him this series. SOOOXXXXXXXXX

I just hope we don't stop hitting on the road. If we keep scoring 4-6 runs a game, we should take at least 2 games in this series.

I used "we", as a kid, for the 1987 White Sox. You're god damn right I'm gonna use "we" when they are good.

Let's see... Sox on a roll, Tigers pitching = yech!, so they will probably lose 2 of 3. Hope I'm wrong. Go Sox!

I grew up using it, its ingrained in me now. I think I was even referring to the Pens using WE for those two games I was a fan last week. I had alot invested in them.

Ozzie should have never let Contreras start the 7th. I said it before the inning. Not second guessing.

Our third base coach, Cox, is an idiot for sending Quentin. I knew he was gonna be out. There was only one out. Stupid.

You'll get no complaints from me.

They are they until they start a winning streak.

Thome is 8 for 24, with 5 HR's against Verlander.

Way to hang a breaking ball Javy, and way to not catch the ball OC.

Lose 2 of 3 to the lowly Tigers. Not a good road trip.

My fear now is that they'll come home and get beat by the Rockies and the Pirates.

Where the fuck have the bats gone?

Typical for this team so far this year. Nice win streak, followed up by a tank job in Detroit. What is with everyone first pitch swinging? Take a fucking pitch.

That said, win tomorrow and and you only lose one game off the lead with Colorado and Pittsburgh coming to town.

Don't assume the Sox will salvage the last game of this series. Kenny Rogers faces Buehrle tomorrow in the wrap up. Rogers has gone 7 innings in each of his last 3 starts. In those starts, he has given up 0, 2 and 1 runs. Beuhrle meanwhile, has surrendered 1 run in 8 vs Min. 3 runs in 6 innings vs Tampa Bay and 6 runs in just 5 innings vs the Indians.

Bumpin-That series against the Rockies is going to be no cake walk' The Rockies have gotten Matt Holiday and Brad Hawpe back from the DL, in the past week. They still are without Troy Tulowitzski though. The Pirates are an underrated team too. If it were not for all the losses to the Cubs, they would have a decent record.

First off Steve, don't deny me my "k". I would never deny Larry Rothschild his "s". :)

Second, I think the Sox SHOULD be able to come back to the Cell and take both series, seeing how they've played at home. The Rockies and the Pirates aren't two of the NL teams that scare me. I saw the Rockies pitching staff vs. the Cub and was not impressed.

Third, none of what I just typed means a whole lot.

Fourth, look out behind you. Frank is coming.

I have laid in the weeds on any Sox excitement. I want to see them beat some good teams before I get excited. Kc and MINN are not good.

Det. as we all know has not been been good, but maybe we woke them up? I am not feeling today about Buerhle the firestarter
