Stone was on with B&B. He just said he's hanging with his wife in Arizona. Just sounds like time off. Looks like he stipulated some time off during the season when he negotiated his Sox contract. He's missed a few series already. Is that true Ranger? No big deal. It's great if you can get it. Good for Stone. Good for Ranger too.

I'll bet Stone doesn't want to come back next year. Maybe Ranger gets the job.

For what it's worth, Chris Rongey has been good luck, now 3-0 pinch hitting for either Ed Farmer or Steve Stone in the White Sox Radio booth.

Not that it matters, but its funny that he gets time off, but the score playsthe promos that say, "steve stone will broadcast every sox game". Personally, I blame Mike North for this.

Agree that Ranger does well, but I miss Stoney.

I could listen to Stone talk about lawn care and I'd still be excited.

If Steve Stone shifts over to TV to replace Darrin Jackson alongside Ken Harrelson next season, 670 "The SCORE" should spend the money to lure a true play-by-play voice and shift Ed Farmer back to analyzing the games like they did before. I know the Tampa Bay Rays are much improved this season, but WSCR should do whatever they can to lure the golden pipes of Dave Wills back to the South Side. Wills was real good when he hosted the pre & postgame shows on the Sox old flagship station, plus did solid work when John Rooney was actually away on assignment for FOX Sports at the beginning of its MLB coverage. Yeah, he'd have to call 3 games a year at Wrigley, or as Dave called it "the Shrine," but I bet he'd jump at the chance to call his true hometown team. I think Dave & Ed would click right away, just like Farmer has with Stone this season on the White Sox Radio Network. Besides, Wills & Farmer are true South siders to the core...
