Even with Contrares getting beaten like a ragdoll last week, the pitching matchups for sure favor the Sox this weekend. It should also be a help getting Thome back into the lineup and not having pitchers hit anymore until October.

Sox win today and tommorow, lose a close low scoring game Sunday nite.

I see the Cubs getting a win tonight behind Dempster and then losing the next 2.

OC with a hit then taking advantage of Patterson being a dumbfuck!

He is a dumbfuck, too. You can see that happening once or twice a season, but 2 games in a row is a manifest sign of dumbfuckery.

He's an infielder, I know but you still can't let that happen. He fucked up a popup a few days back at Wrigley too...a popup he had no business calling for. Inexcusable.

Asshole. Walks will kill you.

And of course, Derrick Rose is in the radio booth now. Right at the critical point of the game. Big Thumbs Down to this shit.

I hope

To his credit, Farmer is still giving the pitches. Didn't miss one pitch with Rose in the booth.

Big win today. Cubs pitching staff still struggling, and now lets hope this sets the tone for the series.

I'm afraid it will. Gallagher has been okay, but Marshall is still 4A stuff. Vazquez and a resurgent Beuhrle make me believe this will be a bad weekend.
The silver lining in this is that should the Royals and Twins continue their successes from last night, the Cubs will remain in first with a decent lead.

I had a feeling the Sox would do better than most thought. Good luck to the Sox... after Sunday.

2 runs won't win this game but it looks like Javy is going to have a rough one today.

I like getting the 2 runs in the first, but we should have got more. I hope that does not come back to bite us.

The way the pitchers are struggling this may end up being a 12-11 type of game.

What the hell is Javy still doing in there?? He doesn't have it today. GET HIM OUT OF THERE!

Congrats to the Sox for taking the series. I still hope the Cubs can go 4-2 overall, but I doubt it.

So be it.

NICE! What a job by the bullpen. Thornton deserved that win. That's the most dominating I've ever seen him pitch.

Get the brooms ready for tommorow!

Javy has pitched like a total asshole for the better part of a month now.

Theres a better chance in the next 6 months Bush turns into the best President of our lifetimes then in the next 2 days hear similar sentiments by spanky and Elmhurst Steve. Say what you want about us Sox fans, but we didnt avoid the board after last week's sweep.

Not all Cub fans have avoided the board.

+1.

Does not surprise me in the least that they have dissapeared basically since Thursday's Cub loss.
