They play 13 of their next 16 on the road (Bos, NYY, Det, Cle). Hopefully the Sox can put some distance between themselves and the piranhas. |

They're only playing against one really good team in that period (Boston). Howevah, it's always tough to win on the road. I wonder who the Twinks are playing during that period? |

Those teams I listed are the teams the Twins will face, with 3 against the Rangers sandwiched in the middle. |

I thought you meant those were the teams the Sox are playing. Anyway, that might be a tougher than usual road trip for the Twins, since they are hurting. |

The Sox have a roadtrip to KC and Texas, then a homestand against those same 2 teams after the All Star Break. Big 4 game series at the Baggie at the end of July. |

Problem is the White Sox play their next 6 on the road, and I don't that they will do any better than 3-3, given their road performance this season. Hopefully, the Twins go 6-10, 7-9 in that stretch. |

The trend in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball this season is that most teams win at home, but lose on the road. The White Sox have two winnable series in a row this week, and it would be a real bummer going into the All-Star Break if they don't take 2 out of 3 in both Kansas City & Texas in spite of their sub .500 road record. They better bring plenty of water & Gatorade with them to both Kauffman Stadium & the Ballpark in Arlington, TX, because it's going to be sweltering in both ballparks! |

Ive been touting this for a week or 2 now, as I did today on MJH. If the Sox have a 4 game lead over the Twins by August 21st, this division race is all but OVAH. Take a look at the Twins' schedule the last 6 weeks of the season; @Anahiem 4 games @Seattle 3 games @Oakland 4 games Off Day Sept 1 @Toronto 3 games Detroit 3 games KC 3 Games Off Day Sept 8 @Baltimore 3 games @Cleveland 3 games @Tampa Bay 4 games Thats a month with 2 off days, a 14 game road trip which takes them literally coast to coast, and 6 home games. They end the year at home with the Sox and Royals for 3 a piece. If the Sox play good ball thru that hellish month for the Twins, they should be able to clinch this thing with one victory at the baggie in late September. |

This is good stuff, I didnt look at it until I heard the guys talking about it Monday. I bet they're glad the city decided to take on the Rep convention. Not all of the teams are going to be in their division races at that point...but still not the schedule they'd like to have down the stretch. |

Yesterday, ESPN Radio 1000's Carmen DeFalco mentioned something rare among MLB teams. The Minnesota Twins have a whopping 14 game road trip in August & September, which seems very unheard of. It turns out that the Twins will be kicked out of the Metrodome due to the Republican National Convention. By the time they head back home, they'll either be leading the A.L. Central or they'll be buried out of contention... |

I said it would be all BUT over. Sure you can't call a race in August, but if the Twins are 4 or 5 games back at that point, they are going to need nothing shy of a miracle to make a substansial run at the White Sox with the schedule they are playing. A 14 game trip, 6 home games in a month? Fuck, you'd be happy to go .500 over that stretch and .500 in late August and into September is not gonna get it done. |

I do. They played and won just as many playoff games as the Cubs did. The point of my post was this: it is going to be very very difficult for the Twins to make a long run playing a mere 6 home games in a month. All I need to do is point out how home teams have been-- for the most part-- dominating thier visiting opponents. If the Twins start that trip down 3, 4, 5 games to the Sox, they could easily find themselves buried by September 21st. |

Guess what, folks? The Twins are winning big tonight vs. the Texas Rangers, and if the Kansas City Royals somehow take 2 out of 3 at U.S. Cellular Field this weekend vs. the White Sox, Minnesota will be a first place team in the A.L. Central! No Santana, no Hunter, no problem for those boys in Minneapolis... |
