After Cabrera scored the tying run in the game tonight, the camera in the dugout showed him going after someone in the dugout and repeatedly screaming at them. I couldn't tell who he was fighting with, and Hawk and DJ of course didn't even comment when the shots were shown. What the hell's going on here? Is this the '72 A's or something? |

I saw the same thing. Maybe JD got pissed cause he got distracted and it took him out of the at bat. It looked like a fight was about to break out. There always seem to be some kind of issues with that guy. |

I didn't see it, but Orlando seems like he has anger management issues in that dugout, especially when a play is ruled as an error... |

I don't think it was Dye bitching at him. Maybe it was. Maybe it was Ozzie. It fucked up JD and the count went to 0-2. He struck out next pitch. I see both sides. You get to 3rd with one out but you put Dye in the hole. You gotta run when it's 0-0. Not when it's 0-1. Not when it's your best hitter. They just showed it on TV. It looks like it was Dye who was mad. |

I think that is what JD's issue was. |

I agree with Hawk. Fuck you and your feelings JD, Orlando had to get into third with less than 2 outs. He saw that the pitcher fell asleep and he took advantage. If JD did his job and hit a fly ball instead of striking out on a pitch in the dirt he wouldn't be bitching. |

I can see Dye's point. What good is it to get to 3rd with 1 out if you put Dye in an 0-2 count? Tough to get that sac fly down 0-2 in the count. I'm just saying OC should do it when it's 0-0 or don't do it at all. Dye is your best hitter. Give him a chance to get a single. That's all it would have taken to score OC. |

The only problem with that argument is that OC DID score. At that point Dye should let it go and not be such a pussy. |

This goes deeper than this one play. I don't know if you guys remember this but earlier in the season OC stole 3rd with 2-outs. He was safe but there is no reason to steal 3rd with 2 outs. I think the Sox players think OC is trying to pad those stats cuz this is his free agent season. He's already called the booth to take away his errors. OC is selfish. No doubt. He's also pretty good but his selfish behavior rubs his teammates the wrong way. |

They just showed a Dye interview on Comcast. "There was just a few words but everything if fine now. We're a family." said Dye. |

If you can take a base with less than two outs, you do it. As far as the count goes, I would much rather steal a base with the hitter behind in the count than ahead in account because you're anticipating a breaking pitch, something that's a little slower to the plate and harder for the catcher to handle. Dye should stop being such a pussy. |

Maybe. But like I said, this goes deeper. It's a pattern of selfish behavior by OC. Maybe that's why Dye boiled over. If it was anybody else he doesn't say anything. Dye is a quiet guy. He's never a problem. He's a good teammate. OC got to him. It was more than this play. That's all I'm saying. |

But if that play happened in a vaccuum, I wouldn't have a problem with it. |

Right. I mean, getting to 3rd with less than 2 outs seems like a team play. I just don't think Dye trusts OC's motives. I don't think Dye thought that's why he did it. Like I said, earlier this year OC stole 3rd with 2 outs. Now that's selfish. Dye remembers that. So do his teammates. They also are aware of him calling to booth to reverse his errors. |

Here is Joe Cowley's report on what happened. Ozzie and Dye quotes. OC left without talking about it. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/1049067,CST-SPT-sox10.article |

What about an infield hit? Line drive to the outfield that would not give a runner from second enough time to score? If the other team is going to give you a base, you take it. |

I don't understand this one at all. If a guy is stealing it doesn't mean the batter can't swing anyway. I don't know why JD would care, something like that should not break his focus on the pitch. |

The Sox were down two in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out and OC on third. The gamble was not worth the risk. |

I'm not a Sox fan so I don't know Cabrera's past, but it makes sense to try to get to third base with one out, doesn't it? Who cares what the count is, he was helping the team out. For Dye to get "distracted" is silly...imo |

In fact, he took 2 pitches so Pablo could get the timing down and swipe 2nd. |

From Ozzie: Quote: ''I don't want good guys,'' he said. ''I want [bleep]ing winners. Good guys finish last.'' Gotta love Ozzie |

I think the larger point people are missing (especially Laurence on the radio this morning) is the past incidents of selfishness from OC--i.e. the time earlier in the year when he stole third with two outs and the times he called the press box to have errors overturned. Also not showing up for postgame interviews to answer for himself when others have to step into the line of fire for him. I'm sure those incidents haven't settled well with his teammates. I think JD finally had enough and boiled over at the wrong time. |

If JD or others have a legit beef with OC, thats fine. Take care of it in the *CLUBHOUSE* with the rest of the *PLAYERS*, not in the *DUGOUT*. To snap at the guy for stealing 3rd with 1 one in a tie game is wrong. |

It wasn't really a fight. They showed OC clearly hot and yelling at someone, then Contreras and I think Wise stepping in front and preventing him from getting to the other side of the dugout. Of course, Comcast barely showed any replays and Hawk and DJ didn't mention it, just like when Barret and Zambrano threw down. |
