White Sox fans...A change in plans for the Southsiders' starting rotation. Mark Buehrle will be starting tomorrow night vs. Texas due to a death in his family, and Clayton Richard, the lefty just called up from Triple "A" Charlotte, will make his Major League debut vs. Ian Kinsler, Michael Young and company in the getaway game Wednesday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field. Nick Masset won't be starting in Jose Contreras' place after all.

Yeah, I noticed this guy was born with 2 first names...Other than that, Clayton was not on the 40 man roster when I visited whitesox.com, and only heard the name listening to "The SCORE" on my way into work this morning...

Fun Fact: Clayton Richard was a backup quarterback on the football team at Michigan.

I'm really interested to see what this kid has. Funny how Richard made to the bigs before the great Gio Gonzalez even though the A's traded 2 starters. People were screaming bloody fuckin murder when Kenny traded the Great Gio as part of the Swisher trade. I'm not saying GGG won't be a good pitcher but maybe Kenny knew his organization better than the 'so-called experts'??

Hopefully, the White Sox bats show up today.

Well, Jim Thome definitely showed up in the bottom 1st with a three run homer, but the defense behind Clayton has been awfully sloppy. That's part of the reason why things are getting a little uneasy, especially with a 10 game divisional road trip staring the White Sox right in the face.

Hawk is still bitching about a strike call on Swisher from the 1st inning. Let it go and the ump is calling that same pitch a strike for Richard, but thats just good location I guess...lol.

Sounds like "Hawk" is whining like the "Grumpy Old Man" on "Saturday Night Live" back in the day...

I know this guy is just a kid, but he didn't show me much today. Contreras could have given up 7 hits and 5 runs in 4 innings just the same.

The defense was terrible behind him, but I didnt think he did that great either. Hawk kept saying he did a really good job, not sure how he came to that conclusion. The K's were really the only thing that he showed he could do.

Holy cow this guy works fast. I think even faster then Buehrle. I liked what he showed. Hope he get another shot.

The defense sucked today. OMG Hall should be sent down. He sucked big time today. I think Jerry Manuel's grandma stole 2nd on Hall today. And he dropped a pop up that nearly hit home plate... pathetic.

Toby Hall isn't going anywhere! The defense didn't do Clayton Richard any favors, and it won't get any easier. If he gets another start, a few things to chew on. It'll hinge a lot on both Jose Contreras' elbow & Nick Masset taking one off the stomach in last night's game. Second, the way the rotation appears set for the beginning of the 10 game road trip, Richard's likely next start comes in that "glorified poolroom", the Metrodome in Minneapolis Monday or Tuesday next week...LOL!

Well it didn't help he went up against Texas either. Their bats have been damn hot as of late.

Ozzie Guillen said after yesterday's game that Richard "threw strikes", and I heard Comcast SportsNet's Gail Fischer this morning add that Clayton will get 2 more starts, with his next one in Minnesota likely on Tuesday night & maybe the end of the road trip in Kansas City next weekend.
