What do you think on this series? I feel most confident about Tuesday -- Nate Robertson has been getting shelled lately and Floyd has pitched well against Detroit thus far. I have a hard time counting Verlander out on Wednesday -- but the White Sox will win, and then I predict (in my Murph voice) a really bad game for Vazquez on Thursday (about 8 hits, 4 walks, 8 Ks, 5 ER in 7 IP ... he'll probably give up a couple of dingers too.).

Vasquez goes 8 innings and gives up just one run? Not a chance. That Detroit team has some good hitters and Vasquez is generally about a 6 inning pitcher. He may get the 9k's. I doubt it, but he may. But I will say he will go 5 2/3 innings, give up 4 runs and strike out 5. With 3 walks as well. We will see who's numbers look more like the box score after the game.

I think a White Sox sweep, or 2 out of 3, could be the beginning of the end for these Tigers, and here's hoping Magglio Ordonez finds a barber to get rid of that awful 1976 mop on his head!

OTOH, a Detroit sweep and you could easily have a three team race to the finish in this division.

Considering how awful the Twins are away from the DAMN METRODOME, touche! Then again, I think that 14 game roadie while John McCain officially gets nominated at the Republican National Convention at the end of August & early September features trips to Seattle, Anaheim, Oakland & Toronto. The A.L. Central race could be determined by then.

Thank John McCain if Minnesota falls apart.

I believe this series will come down to which teams pen steps up. Let's see what Farnsworth brings to the closer role.

Shit. Griffey just turned a single into a triple cuz he's slow. That's 2 "fuck ups" by him cuz he's old. First one was in KC.

You beat me to it Beardown.

The Guillen jersey on a hanger next to Cora is a nice touch.

I hate being right all the time. Well, not really.

I knew Raber was gonna get a hit. Just knew it. Wasserman has nothing. Absolutley nothing.

He's hanging everything. He has no fastball. It's 86 or 87 tops. Man, I want to hit against him. He can't locate either.

Raber fouled away 6 balls before he smoked one. He should have killed some of those foul balls. The next guy popped up on a hanger over the plate.

Once again, another miserable start from a White Sox starter, as Gavin Floyd pays the price and can't get out of the 5th. OUCH!

Mother fuckin' double plays. 3 by us today. Only in the 5th.

This game doesn't feel out of reach- yet- but this is obviously a big AB right here.

Post subject:  Re: Sox vs Tigers

Could this be a bullpen game between these two teams? Neither Floyd nor Nate Robertson appear to be long for this one, and Gavin is already done for the night...

Post subject:  Re: Sox vs Tigers

Robertson has nothing today. We've hit him. We should have more than the 2 fuckin' runs. Like I said, those 3 double plays kill things quickly.

Oh know. Wasserman is out for the 6th. Please let him get luck and have the Tigers get themselves out. They should be able to kill him.

Boone Logan is coming into this one...He better be preparing to pack his bags for Charlotte the way he's pitched lately!

Well, he got his only hitter out. Hawk said it right though. It was a "get me over" breaking ball. He just flipped it up there and got lucky it wasn't crushed.

Curtis Granderson is Logan's first batter...Good luck, we're all counting on you!

Blooper reels are only funny when you give a rat's ass about who the person is. Bob Rohrman would do well to remember that.

It seems like everyone is doing that these days...Think "TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes" with Dick Clark & Ed McMahon circa 1985...
