We lucked out with pitching match ups.

Santana pitched yesterday; we won't face him. Weaver got some weird injury. He's scratched from todays game. Angels are calling up a rookie to pitch today.

I'm not sure if that's lucking out. Sure we're back home, but you know how the Sox typically do against these guys they've never seen before.

We still get Saunders and Lackey though so this will not be easy.

Yeah. I wish we could have got Garland. But I'm happy we got this rookie tonight instead of Weaver. This guy is 1-3 with a 7.20 ERA.

It's not a question of will they clinch the American League West but when. The Anaheim Angels can actually clinch the division this weekend at "The Cell" if they sweep the Southsiders and the soon to be former World Champion Boston Red Sox can officially finish the Texas Rangers off at The Ballpark in Arlington. As it stands now, the Angels' magic number is 6. You are looking at the new World Champions, whether we like it or not. I believe the Garth Brooks-looking Mike Scioscia & the ANAHEIM ANGELS are going to win it all!

Ok. This Quentin injury sucks. I still expect the Sox to win the division. I'm with Frank. Heard your email on MJH today. Frank basically said it's about pitching anyway. Let's all listen to this and move on.

Dye is still a top 10 hitter in the AL. Konerko is swinging it well. Thome can get some homers. A.J is a solid hitter. Ramirez is good. Swisher, Griffey, Cabrera and the others have to chip in. It's not over. We can do this.

Just an indication of why it's not over.

Here are some bad teams that have ran off winning streaks.

Indians won 10 in a row.

Nationals won 7 in a row.

Astros won 8 in a row.

Sox are better than all of those teams even without Quentin.

Have we seen this guy before? Hopefully, we have because we suck (it seems) against guys we see for the first time.

I just heard on the Score pre game that this pitcher is the guy that Thome got his 500th homer off last year. So we've seen him.

He must have been in the bullpen. Cuz Thome got him late in the game last year. I think.

Good news then. I feel much more comfortable about taking the opener then.

Yeah. But maybe he was just a bullpen guy and only a few guys faced him last year. I don't know.

Hawk is usually good about giving the stats of Sox players against pitchers. We'll see if he does that today.

DJ just said this pitcher's last start in the minors he allowed 10 runs on 9 hits in only 2 innings.

Ok. No excuse not to win today.

Actually, I think Nick Swisher (.167 in 6 AB and 3 K) and Jim Thome (1 AB, 1 HR) are the only guys who have faced him. Could be a long night, but hopefully they can handle Moseley.

He's started 16 games in his career. 1 against the Sox last season. They lit him up.

Holy shit. This guy is leaving his change up high. It's right there to kill. Dye missed two of them. Hawk is all over that too.

We're gonna kill this guy.

Dj just said he's never started against us.

Only two guys have faced him acording to Hawk.

Swisher: 6 times.

Thome: 1 time.

I believe you are referring to last season's 9-7 loss to the White Sox on September 16th. He didn't get anyone out (0.0 IP), and gave up 2 ER (1 HR to Thome) and 2 Hits. I believe Darin Erstad got the other hit in that game.

He didn't start this game, but was the losing pitcher.

Nice. JR gets the a 2-RBI single.

Maybe he isn't playing today if Quentin is healthy. See how I can spin things.

Yeah I heard Hawk say only Thome and Swish has faced him so I went back to check. I read the stat sheet wrong.

See, fellas, it doesn't matter if you haven't seen a guy if the guy absolutly sucks.

As soon as I heard this guy gave up 10 runs, in two innings, in a minor league game, I knew we would win. Not to mention the nothing pitches I saw him throw in the first inning. This guy blows.

Thome's wife is hot. No doubt she seduced that dumb fuck. She wanted his money.

Hey, you guys notice that DJ does all the interviews with the ass holes promoting stuff during the game. DJ stands off to the side. Hawk wants no part of that happy horse shit.

I know it's for charity. It's a good cause. But DJ does all the stupid interviews.

Juan Uribe!!!!!!!

Give that guy credit. He's come through recently. Defense and offense. After sitting for a long time.

It's amazing Konerko and Thome ran on the in-field-fly rule. It's amazing the Angels didn't know the rule either and didn't tag them. They both were safe. Stupid on everybodys part.

Fuck. Alexi gets 2 RBIs cuz of it.

Looking for help from the Tigers & Rangers? Forget it! The Twins lead the Quitters, I mean Tigers 10-2 in the bottom 8th, while the Red Sox are shutting out the Rangers 7-0 in the top 9th. All this means is Anaheim's magic number for clinching the American League West will drop to 5 with the Rangers losing...

Neither the Cubs nor the Sox are the FOX game today. One of the rare times. Both play night games on Saturday.

So we're gonna get the Twins/Tigers today. Good. Now I can actually watch and root for a Twins loss instead of following it on the internet. That's assuming we get that game. I think we will since it means something to Sox fans. Don't think they'll give us the Dodgers/D-Backs or Phillies/Mets. Those are the other 2 FOX games.

I probably won't do more than occasionally check the score, but I don't mind seeing other games than just the Sox/Cubs on the FOX Saturday game, especially in this case where we have a rooting interest.

Go Tigers!
