Lots of rain coming tonite, so we may see a double header tommrow or Wednesday. Vazquez and Buerhle need to be on thier game. If thats the case, and the Sox can score a few runs here and there not via the home run, I like thier chances to take 3 of 4.

I'll be at 2nite's game to watch Vazquez throw 1 too many innings OR to watch the rain. Either way I'll still enjoy the all u can eat food and drink before the game and then I'll retire to the bullpen bar if the game hasn't started yet or is on the verge of being called.

Like so many teams this season in Allan H. Selig's Major League Baseball, the Blue Jays are real tough at home, but bad on the road this season, if 4 games under .500 is bad away from Rogers Centre. I remember the White Sox went up there back in May and got swept in 4 in a row by dominating Toronto pitching, and I still have bad memories of Juan Uribe's base running blunder in the wraparound game which the Sox lost 1-0. I wish the Sox didn't have to deal with A.J. Burnett tonight, weather permitting, and Roy Halladay Wednesday night. Something tells me this series has split written all over it, but with rain in the forecast this eve, I have a bad feeling that these two teams may have to play one of those stupid day-night doubleheaders later in the week if tonight is a "no go".

That's actually not bad at all this season.

Burnett has a nice record. 16-10. But it's miss leading. Vazquez has a better ERA than this guy for the love of God. Vazquez is only 11-12.

So Burnett has been scored on this year. He's not an elite pitcher by any stretch. Not with a 4.47 ERA.

Can someone explain why Richard is in the rotation and not Broadway?

Rained out tonite. Day, Night doubleheader tommorow. Nothing is easy in a pennant race.

Thats a good point BD. The guy has nasty stuff at times, but has almost the same ERA as Ted Lilly (4.43 for Lilly, to 4.47 for Burnett) . When you look at those numbers, it suggests that either he just doesn't give his best effort at times, or he has a rough inning every now and then. But every time I have seen him pitch this year, he's looked pretty impressive. He shut down the Cubs a couple months back, when they were mulling the possibilities of aquiring him or Harden. Gotta hope he's just playing out the string and going through the motions, rather than on top of his game here.

You might see Lance Broadway come Saturday afternoon, because with the stupid day-night doubleheader today with Toronto, the Jerry Lawler-looking Don Cooper may have to use someone other than Javy Vazquez & Clayton Richard when Chris Rose & Leo Mazzone provide the descriptions of the White Sox game vs. the Tigers on FOX Sports' "Saturday Game of the Week" come 2:55p.

I read in the game notes a couple weeks back that FOX couldn't pick up anymore Sox games.

I know there will probably be shit thrown in my direction for this but:
I'll be at the game on Saturday if anyone else is there - maybe meet for a quick brew? Even you Frank - if you buy, of course.

Frank, you might be referring to the RED Sox. FOX Sports has picked up this Saturday's game vs. the Tigers for sure, and I know Chris Rose from "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" is calling the game. He & the guys there had A.J. Pierzynski as a guest about a week to 10 days ago and in the interview, Chris hinted he was commissioned to call the ballgame...

No, I'm referring to the WHITE Sox. Thumbs down to thier gamenotes. In the notes for the game against KC, where they hit the 4 HRs, it stated that Fox had picked up the Saturday game against the Rays, and that in doing so Fox had reached thier quota of Sox games for the season so the Sept 13th and 27th games would be at 6:05.

FYI, Sunday's game is 7:05 on ESPN, which means I'll get to watch both the SOX and The Beloved in full.

Good to see Ozzie with his regular lineup for game 1. Though, hopefully most of them are in for game 2 as well. I think Richard will need more run support than Javy.

Post subject:  Re: Jays @ Sox

I think there might be a few changes for the regular game tonight at 7:11p. I wouldn't be shocked to see Jerry Owens in center field, Ken Griffey, Jr. as the DH & possibly even Joshua Fields at third base in Game 2 vs. Jesse Litsch. Just an educated guess...One guy you won't see is Chris Getz, whose brief season with the big club is over. The backup second baseman has a broken wrist, says ESPN Radio's Bruce Levine, and is gone for the rest of the season. Should the White Sox make the playoffs, I'll be interested to see whether Joe Crede will be available for the first round, let alone be on the playoff roster despite the back stiffness & Ozzie all but giving up on Crede being available the rest of the way...

Can't watch or listen to the game. Following it on line.

Burnett has a no hitter through 5 innings.

I think if everybody types that he has a no hitter it will jinx him.

I'm just happy Vazquez is matching his shut out so far.

2 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings? Thats not a bad line by any means.

If that's all Javy gave up, that wouldn't be too bad...

Fuckin' Thome. I know he got the extra inning homer the other day but he fails so much late in games when we need him.

He got the homer in the 15th, in large part, cuz that was the Angels bad releif pitcher. They used all the good ones by the time he hit it.
