So Kenny has fired his Director of Minor League Scouting, 3 Latin Scouts and now a majority of his minor league coaches?

It's never Kenny's fault. Even though he assembled and approved every single person in the Sox system.

You think Kenny should be fired? I don't.

With all the shots you take at Reinsdorf (including how it was him to told KEnny to interview Ozzie) you should know that this is totally untrue.

Which part is untrue? That Kenny was FORCED to interview Ozzie? or that Kenny assembled the Minor league system?

Kenny might not have hired the coaches himself, but I assure you 100% that no coach was hired without Kenny's approval.

Please feel free then to explain how you think this went down? Or is it all DeWayne Shaffer's fault and Kenny was unaware of anything going on?

I would like to hear Frank's version of how Ozzie was hired then?

Fact is Kenny wanted Cito Gaston. He wanted Cito Gaston REALLY BAD! Called him, Gaston said NO. Kenny kept calling him. Meanwhile Reinsdorf has on the phone with his ex coaches. Lamont and Torborg checking on Ozzie. The deal was as simple as, 'kenny I want to hire Ozzie as manager, once you meet with him, if you are against it we won't hire him" So while the meeting between Ozzie and Kenny was "forced" the hire was not forced, however, when your Boss tells you who he likes, unless you have a much better option anyone with common sense knows who they are being STRONGLY suggested to hire.

Is this a shot considered a "Shot" at Reinsdorf?

This is what happened. simple.

As usual I don't understand your point. You're saying Kenny is dumb because he wanted to hire Cito Gaston? The same guy who won 2 World Series and who took over a last place team this season that was 35-41 and is now 79-68 and making things very difficult for the rest of the AL?? Yeah, what a dumbass.

The firings may have a lot to do with problems involving their scouts getting illegal kick-backs from prospects they scouted and signed. There are other teams that may well be firing some of their scouts and scouting directors. But besides that, just look at their track record. The young guys they have like Carlos Quentin (trade) Alexi Ramirez (free agent) Danks and Floyd (trades) that are producing, were not guys developed in the system. What has the minor league system produced in the past few years? He makes the final, calls on draft day. But he does so, based on the information and advice of the scouting department. Obviously their input has been bad.

The firing of the Scouts was during the season the Coaches just happened within the last week.

The need to go out and get Quintin and Ramirez was because the organization is producing very little.

Ironically, you could say the guys picked up to just fill in ended up carrying this team.

Maybe Kenny should have taken some of the blame publicly for all the failures, but the guy is not going to fire himself.

Has nothing to do with Cito being Good or not.

Cito is who Kenny wanted. Kenny did not want Ozzie! Frank just does not like hearing that FACT. Kenny was forced to interview Ozzie. When I say "Interview" it was a "get used to this guy because unless you can't stand him, he is your next manager" meeting.

Take a look at how Reinsdorf just handled the hiring of the latest Bulls coach. He basically handled the interviews and then told his GM who he wanted. I am not sure why it is so hard to believe that he did the exact same thing with Ozzie. Especially considering when Kenny was named GM, Reinsodrf even admitted to forming a "White Sox executive committee" of Himself, Shuler, Hemond and Dennis Gilbertson to help Kenny.

All I am saying is that Kenny defenders give him credit for a number of things like hiring Ozzie, which was not his idea and he was even oppossed to it.

Could Kenny have put his foot down and not hired Ozzie. Yes, he could have, but he better have had a MUCH better alternative. yes, Cito Gaston may have been a good alternative at the time, but Cito was not interested, so Ozzie was hired.

Somehow this then gets translated into taking a shot at Reinsdorf? Which Frank, or any other of Sox nation can feel free to explain to me how this is a shot at Resindorf? as I think it only displays his experience as an owner and hiring coaches. Jerry maintained his relationships with ex managers like Torborg and looked into Ozzie's capability to do the job.

Jerry made Kenny interview Ozzie. I'm not denying that. You said that Kenny "assembled everybody in the Sox system." Thats false. Jerry has hired and approved some, which you point out every chance you get bigfan. Thats all I'm saying. Goddamn.

And so what if he hired Ozzie but wanted Cito? Big fucking deal. Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make.

You also have to put the hire in context. JR refuses to deal with agents when hiring non player talent. He also despises having to give out much money. That means he is confined to hiring either a desperate retread or someone with no experience. Ozzie fit the profile (as did KW).

Thats something I have never been too happy with. If you have an agent you cant work for JR.
