They like Jerry Reinsdorf.

Because the colors are black. The color black is somewhat ominous, sinister and dark - therefore appropriate. In the 80s and early 90s gangbangers were into wearing LA Kings apparel for similar reasons.

That's alarmingly racist. I demand an apology.

I don't see colors, not even black or white.

I dunno know, I think it's just cause my pharmacist grew up in the western burbs. I'll ask him when I'm picking up my kid's amoxicillin refill.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there are several teams whose colors might be gang-related besides the White Sox & Raiders. Also, I believe the Los Angeles Kings now sport purple on their uniforms nowadays...

Sure. The Sox colors were big gang colors in the early 90s. Probably still is. I canceled my subscribtion to Gang Banger Weekly a few years ago so I'm not sure.

Don't blame the Sox for gang violence. Even if they didn't have the uniforms the gang bangers would have found something else to wear to commit crimes.

The Sox current logo looks like an upside down Two Six handjesture. Gangs that oppose them would wear Sox gear.

Other teams that have been popular with gangs over the decades have been UNC, Steelers and Pirates (Latin Kings), and hats with the Yankee and Dodger logos (but in the gangs' colors).

Steelers? Gang apparel? A gang of meaty Polish guys?

Post subject:  Re: Sox and Gangwear

I'll say this for the Cubs gear. You never hear of ganbangers wearing their shit. You just don't look tough while wearing stuff that has a little Cubbie walking out of a "C". Plus Blue and Red aren't tough colors.

Post subject:  Re: Sox and Gangwear

Blue and red are just beautiful, vibrant and classy. Lets face it, black and silver are boring. Gotta have more brightly pigmented colors to have great uniforms. Hell, even the road grey's are really brightened up by the blue and red. No doubt that the Sox "colors" are preffered by gang bangers. But thats a popularity contest I am sure the Cubs would rather not be associated with.

Trust me Steve, you're not associated with any popularity contest.

Awwww Frank that hurts.....But we are talking about uniforms, not me. Try to pay attention.
But you should be the LAST one to discuss one's popularity. My God, you must be the individual looked upon with the greatest degree of disdain on this board.

I guess I would rather be a fan of a team with some gang stuff then what the Sox used to wear!

Now they need to work on the diseased looking Mascot. Maybe a Pitbull to go with the gang theme?

Most of us like Frank. I just think there's some unwritten rule that new members must eventually get into an argument with Frank at some point.
