I watched some of the game today and I was shocked to see Brian Anderson in the one spot this late in the spring. Getting closer to opening day and this must be where Ozzie is headed. The two headed monster of Anderson and Wise at leadoff. A. Ramirez was in the two hole. If you're gonna bat Ramirez that high, you might as well put him at one. I sure hope Ozzie changes his mind. Anderson should play a lot but more like 9th or 10th in the line up. |

First of all, Mr. Belvedere, I'm old enough to remember your show featuring Bob Uecker as "George Owens", circa 1985 on ABC. ![]() ![]() |

He molested the young boy from the show in 86. He's doin time in IDOC (ILL Dept of Corrections). I "represent" the town of Belvidere. That little dot east of Rockford. However, I did have a crush on the chubby sister on Mr. BelvEdere. |

If Owens could just put a few hits together he'd get the job. He is the biggest disappointment of spring. How 'bout that AJ? He threw out two runners yesterday. One was juan pierre... TWK Does Cambodia II |

I saw that. I'v been an AJ critic. He doesnt hit enought to justify his inability to throw out runners. I hope I was wrong. Gavin told Stone and Hawk that Cooper has worked with them on quicker slide steps to the plate. I guess we'll see. I LOVE AJ...... |

Throwing runners out requires some help from the pitcher. The only guy on the staff who helps AJ out at all in that regard is Buehrle. |

Ja, AJ says he's been practicing also. Says he's been working with catching coaches whenever he has down time. Says he was embarrassed by last year's performance. Anderson is now hitting .282. Wise is at .302 (and had a huge day Sunday) and Owens lags at .230. All have around 60 AB. Wise is referred to, at whitesox.com, as the 'speedy' Wise so I guess he is now the man... |

Anderson should be thrown out in center for the first three months of the season and allowed to play baseball. He has by far the most upside of the three mentioned for the centerfield spot. Let him succeed or fail, for Christ's sake. |

Wise is the best hitter of the three but the worst fielder. Does Owens even make this team? |

Try a batting average around .220 to .232 in under 200 bats and a manager in Ozzie that's awfully stubborn & reluctant to start a guy who simply can't hit Major League pitching, that's how bad #32 is. Walt, until Anderson learns how to hit on the big league level, you won't see Anderson out there unless there's a tough lefty or if he's needed for late inning defense. It's as simple as that. |
