Over the long haul, Coco Crisp isn't worth the $$$. Sure, he looked like Mickey F'n Mantle yesterday (I was at the game - way more impressed by that catch in the 8th inning than by the HR) but that's one game out of 162. Don't sweat it. |

You know as well as I do that baseball moves at a slower pace (over the course of a season) than other sports. Wise's playing time will have a lot to do with how the team fares early on - BA got a full year's worth of a tryout in '06 because the team was doing well up until September. Wish some of the more hotheaded Sox fans would figure that one out. |

I think had the White Sox signed Coco Crisp, even for less $$$$ than what the Royals(?) paid for him, Jerry Owens & DeWayne Wise would be long gone, and the offensively-challenged Brian Anderson wouldn't be far behind as far as center field & lead-off duties are concerned. This is one move that's not looking so smart right now, Sox fans... |
