Lillelbridge leading off, other than that, same standard lineup

Looks like rain is heading their way, this game may not get in today.

Gavin dominated Detroit last season (3-0). I'm hoping that trend continues today.

Sox have done very well at Comerica Park as well, hopefully they can start off this roadtrip with at least 2 out of 3.

Is Lillibridge starting today for Chris Getz at second base? I know Chris got hit with a pitch and left yesterday's game vs. Minnesota due to a right triceps bruise...

I know Getz is like the rest of us as Ed Farmer would say on radio, "day to day"...

They said he may miss the entire series which sucks for him because he grew up outside Detroit and was really looking forward to playing in Comerica where he played a game while in high school.

I don't like having to do your job for you, Shark.

The Detroit announcers said that was Dye's and Konerko's 300th HR?

Is that true?

#300 for both konerko, dye. Doubt that has happened in same game

Very impressive

I bet Konerko has to buy Dye dinner because he got there first. There's no way they didn't have some action on that.

Keyser, don't worry about it...I hope Getz's injury isn't too serious. As for Lillibridge, I remember he couldn't hit a lick down in Atlanta, but I smell a new thread if he continues to be productive in the leadoff spot...

Damn 0-2 on the 9 hitter, and you walk him.

Anybody know why this is a day game? It doesn't meet any of the usual criteria:

-Home opener
-Holiday
-Getaway day
-Played at Wrigley

What gives?

I was wondering the same thing myself, Spanky. I know the folks in Detroit weren't happy with the Tigers opening vs. the Rangers on Good Friday, during Passover...

Detriot isn't safe after dark?

Sox need to break this game open here this inning.

I've heard something along those lines, Frank, but it was the church there in Detroit that wasn't thrilled with the Tigers & Rangers starting their game about 3:05p or so our time during Passover on Good Friday...That's what I heard, but all three of these games at Comerica Park are 12Noon each day through Wednesday with the Sox & Tigers.

Quentin again!

Double bonus, as he's on my fantasy team

Carlos Quentin's on a tear! Meanwhile, Gavin Floyd walked 7 Tigers today, and right now, he's on the upside of this one...Go figure!

Not sure if home opener was originally scheduled for 4pm eastern, but it did start at 1pm eastern on Good Friday

Thanks for the clarification on that start time...It was supposed to be 4p (ET) last Friday, but got moved to 1p (ET) for Detroit's home opener vs. Texas due to the outrage over Good Friday...

Separated should for Wise, DL stint most likely on the way for him. I wonder if they'll call up Owens then cut him...?

Frank, he's no longer on the 40-man White Sox roster, but you'd think Jerry Owens might get one more shot in the wake of DeWayne's separated shoulder injured on quite a catch to save 2 runs in the bottom 5th...Besides, Reggie Willis got called up over the weekend by the Anaheim Angels, but he was reluctant to report in the wake of the Nick Adenhart tragedy...

According to this, Owens is not on the 40 man roster and probably can't be called up unless he is added.

Best guess would be Cole Armstrong or Brandon Allen to have another left handed bat on the bench.

Eh, whatever. I don't like Owens anyway.

Hopefully Anderson can make the most of his playing time and win the job for good.

I have to think Brian Anderson's the starting centerfielder for the immediate future, even though I still think #32 is terrible at the plate. That explains why Ozzie's been very reluctant, Frank, to give Anderson much of a shot other than late inning defense...
