With a victory tonight, the Sox will reach .500--a point I thought they'd never reach.

Good start so far. Stealing bases, advancing runners, hit and run and scoring a run after two outs are good things.

Let's get Pavano's pitch count up there to get him out of there.

D-Wise=great defensive play.

Keep it up, Beckham.

Gavin's been really chunking the last month and tonight is no exception. Beckham's hit two bullets.

Are the Indians that pathetic that they have to resort to shooting fireworks off after every inning? that's kind of sad/annoying...

They shoot off fireworks to scare off the seagulls that land on the field.

Didn't like the way it ended but a wins a win. A trip through the NL and a game at Cleveland and they're back to .500. Keep it rolling tomorrow boys.

Two of the White Sox youngsters rose to the occasion this eve. Chris Getz had 2 doubles, an RBI & 2 runs scored, while Gordon Beckham had his first 3 hit night of his career including an RBI. Unfortunately, Alexei Ramirez got hit in the head by a pitch and was promptly run for by Jayson Nix in the top 9th when the Sox scored 4 runs, which turned out to be very important as the Sox held on for a 6-3 win at (Not So) Progressive Field. With the Indians scheduled to start lefties in each of the next 2 games, Cliff Lee & Jeremy Sowers, I can actually envision seeing Getz at second in at least one of these games with Nix at short depending on Ramirez's status.

Yeah, me too!

Tough matchup tonight with Richard against Lee. I don't think Richard lasts as a starter beyond the All Star break if he doesn't give them 6+ innings in each of the next two starts.

A.Poreda will be getting a shot soon if Richard continues to struggle.

Poreda's not the answer because he struggles with his secondary pitches more than Richard does. I think Richard will be the 5th starter until Kenny makes a trade to upgrade the rotation (which should happen in the next couple weeks).

That's what I believe as well. A. Poreda has more upside and "stuff" than Richard. I've advocated sending Richard to the minors to develop a breaking ball and get his lack of control under control.

However, I think Richard could be useful in the bullpen. Send down horrible Gobble, put Richard in his place to get lefties out.

Since Poreda has better stuff, I think he should be used as a starter. He'll get out of more innings/jams alone on his fastball, so if crap is in that spot now, why not try Poreda? I think it worked with Bacon/Fields.

That's in direct contrast to my point I just made! :D Maybe there's a happy medium?

I still think Kenny needs to get a solid starter, but it may not be for Poreda/Richard. It may end up being for Contreras--I just don't see him getting any better; in fact, I think he's going to gradually get worse. Just my feeling.

I doubt that Poreda is the answer as well, espeically this early in his career, but I do think he's the next one in line (obviously, outside of a trade).

What's baffling about Cliff Lee is that the Indians haven't exactly scored a great deal of runs for him this season compared to a season ago...His ERA going into tonight's start at (Not So) Progressive Field is 2.92, but only a 4-6 record to show for it.

They called the game within the last 30 minutes, and the White Sox won a 7 inning, rain-shortened game 11-4 over the Indians at (Not So) Progressive Field following extended 2 rain delays tonight.

While, I am inclined to agree with you Keyser, I am going to wait until he goes through the league for the second time until I anoint him the second coming of somebody really, really good.
You know, you gotta wait until that book gets published.

The Sox should roll tonight with Contrearas going against Sowers. Cleveland looks like a team that has given up...which is nice considering the Sox play them again next week.
