Okay, White Sox fans, it's safe to say that when Turner/TBS Sports announces the 2009 All-Stars before Chip Caray & Ron Darling provide the national call of Sunday's Brewers/Cubs' game, NOT one Southsider will be starting for the Drew Carey-looking Joe Maddon and the American League All-Stars in St. Louis July 14th. However, because Major League Baseball has the stupid rule in which every team must be represented, my White Sox All-Star that should be going to Busch Stadium goes tonight when the Sox start a 4-game weekend series in Kansas City. It's Mark Buehrle, the lefty who's 7-2 with a 3.26 ERA. If Buehrle isn't deserving, I don't know who else is deserving of All-Star consideration. Bobby Jenks with 18 saves? Jermaine Dye with a BA of .294, 18 HR's & 48 RBI's? Who's really worthy of All-Star consideration from this team?

It would be tough to leave Dye off the team. Konerko is having a very good year as well. A good start today would make Buehrle a lock.

If the Drew Carey-looking Joe Maddon leaves Buehrle off the All-Star team with 8 innings of 1 run baseball tonight in the White Sox 4-1 win over the Bill Engvall-looking Trey Hillman and a Royals' team that's still bad, something's very wrong...

I think its pretty much a slam dunk Buehrle will be on the team. You have to figure Youklis,Teixeria will be at 1B. leaves out konerko. Maybe dye has an outside shot at OF

Buerhle, Dye, Jenks.

Maybe Konerko, but at Buehrle and either Dye or Jenks should be there.

Before he pitched a gem last night in Kansas City, Mark Buehrle was a no-brainer in my opinion to make the American League All-Star team is concerned. However, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal doesn't see the pride of St. Charles, MO pitching in St. Louis July 14th. According to his most recent column, he's got Jermaine Dye making the A.L. roster from the White Sox, not Buehrle.

Podsednik deserves mention, for the job he has done since re-joining the team. He has turned that team around.

Unfortunately for Scott, guys, he was out of MLB at the start of this season. When MLB printed up those All-Star ballots, Podsednik may have a very attractive better half in Lisa Dergan, but he was without a team after the Colorado Rockies released the outfielder.

Well, he's hit .311 and sparked that team since his return. He's had 55-57 games out of what? 80? That might be enough. Not sure he necesarilly deserves a spot, but he surely deserves a mention.

He's not even on the final online ballot, let alone Jermaine Dye for that matter...Besides, as it stands now, Mark Buehrle is scheduled to start the Indians' series tomorrow and wrap up the Twins' series in Minnesota Sunday. There's a chance FOX Sports' Joe Buck & Tim McCarver, let alone ESPN Radio's Dan Shulman & Dave "Soup" Campbell might not even mention Buehrle's name come next Tuesday in St. Louis...

SHARK, I am willing to give you 5:1 odds that Buck, McCarver, Shulman, or Campbell mention Buehrle on their respective Tuesday's broadcasts. I am not guaranteeing they will play, but if you have ever seen an All-Star game before, you'd notice that towards the eighth inning or so of the game they recap who is available to play for each team. In fact, in the last 10+ years, I do not remember any player who was elected to the All-Star squad going unmentioned, even those who did not show up to the stadium for the game!
