They might win vs Pettite or Mitre. But the way things are going, if they drop game 1 to Pettite, you may be right.Maybe the team is waiting for kenny to aquire a player or 2 before the trade deadline and their focus is just not there, maybe it's a letdown after the perfecto, or maybe they just aren't very good... |

They are at home. Anything less than a split isn't acceptable. They are now entering August, they have to survive this stretch, but another run is needed soon. |

Tonight's lineup will most likely be a makeshift one, with Jayson Nix at shortstop and Chris Getz at second base after Ozzie told reporters after the loss in Minnesota that Alexei Ramirez definitely won't play with the injured right ankle. I'd also wonder about Carlos Quentin's availability after gingeringly struggling after he smacked his first homer since April. I think the White Sox are fearing the worst even before the 7:11p first pitch this eve. This is also a hunch, but something also tells me that Brent Lillibridge might be getting a phone call from Triple "AAA" Charlotte. |

BD, the Ranger mentioned on his White Sox Radio postgame that Alexei caught a spike in that awful FieldTurf but was walking around the dugout after he was helped off the field in the middle 7th. X-Rays will be revealed later, but I don't know if Alexei's awkward slide trying to break up a double play or Carlos Quentin struggling to run the bases after he hit a homer last night were tougher to watch...I forgot about Jim Thome missing the last 2 games with a back problem. What's this team to do? |

Sox got lucky that in this 4-game series they'll miss the Yanks best pitcher. Jaba Chamberlin has been awesome his last few starts. He was awesome yesterday. Pettitte isn't what he used to be. I remember the Sox getting to him in the past. He's 8-6 this year but he has a bad 4.67 ERA. |

for all their problems the Indians can still put up some runs, and the tigers main problem has been scoring |

Mark Kotsay is the centerfielder tonight, giving Scott Podsednik the night off. So far, despite an hour-long rain delay, the White Sox seem to be making the Carmen DeFalco/Gheorgie Muresan-looking Andy Pettitte throw a lot of pitches in the first 2 innings with only 1 hit to show for it. |
