The question is 'who will finish second in the rookie of the year voting?'

I would say in the middle of winter would be too early...

I'm guessing your question is "when isn't it too early?"

I'd say now's a fine time to discuss it...

I must say, the kid has impressed the hell out of me. I look forward to watching him progress as a player.
There is nothing that warms my baseball heart more than watching the development of a good young player. Bacon seems to have the combination of physical talent and innate feel for the game, that is a pleasure for any baseball fan to watch.
You Sock fans are lucky to have him.

Reason, I built the Gordon Beckham bandwagon large enough for ALL baseball fans so jump on board. You better get on quickly though because this puppy is rolling downhill and won't be slowing down anytime soon.

Hey, I had said at the end of spring training, that the kid belonged in the majors then. I still believe that Kenny just sent him down, to make sure they got an extra year before he is arbitration eligible and an extra year before he is eligible for free agency. He is a special player and barring injury, should be an All-Star in many seasons to come. It's not like you spotted some diamond in the rough. The kid was a stud college player and drafted high in the first round. He should be good. But he is truely special-on offense. That said, he was just 1-4 yesterday and took the collar (0-3 but did get 2 walks) today. So maybe we can hold off on the HOF bust for now.

STFU. Even Micah Hofpauier and Jake Fox have 1-7 stretches.

What has that got to do with the topic of Beckham and his ROY chances??? Hoffpauir and Fox are guys who get a handful of at bats per week. To be truely sharp is almost impossible, when you don't get regular at bats. If Lee was injured and either got to start, I believe they would do very well, but I have never compared either to Beckham-who I have stated from the start to be IMO, a special player. Hell, I said he was ready out of spring training, while you wanted him at AAA....Dumbass!

I think a 1-7 would raise Hasselhoff's batting average.
