Boston takes 3 of 4 from the White Sox and the Tigers lose 2 of 3 from the Angels.

In the battle of Sox to start this road trip, I think the White & Red split the four-game series right down the middle in Boston...

+1, which puts them at 3.5 games out heading into The Big Apple.

Here's a scenario that most likely will not come to fruition, but I'm hoping:

By winning 3/4 in Chicago, Sox have gained the confidence to beat the Yankees. As a result, they take 2/3.

As for the Twin, they'd been sucking lately with horrendous pitching. Twins are under .500 and demoralized, somewhat. As a result, Sox take 2/3.

Is this possible??

My prediction is that the White Sox go 4-7 on this trip.

1-3 in Boston.
1-2 in NY
1-2 in Minnesota
1-0 in Chicago

it may not be the best race in the world, but at least we are still palying for something that matters....when cards won the whole fen thing did the fans say we only had 85 regular season wins so it dosent mean as much i think not.....

It's a bad race, but I'd rather be in it than out of it. Once you get to the playoffs, regular season record no longer matters.

Precisely. It is a shitty division thus far, but the Sox are in the race. All you can really do is get yourself into the postseason, then hope to get hot and get some breaks.

I just don't see the sense in complaining about how bad the division is. Do we want to go back to the 60's when the White Sox were often the 2nd best team in the AL (if not, baseball), yet could not even make the postseason because of the Yankees? F that.

I can easily see the White Sox winning tomorrow night vs. Jon Lester and on Wednesday vs. knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, despite an 11-3 record. The White Sox have actually done pretty good vs. Wakefield, and the knuckle ball can be pretty deceptive. Besides, the Red Sox have been scuffling at the plate themselves...

They are missing Beckett, and the rest of these guys are not that great. They can be scored upon, but the problem is that the White Sox offense is very inconsistent, mostly on the bad side, and they are on the road.

For the record... the '06 Cardinals only had 83 wins.... 83-79 world champs!

Boston scores their 1st run on a run down, 2nd run on an error (slow grounder up the 1st base line that Contreras messed up), 3rd run on a walk with the bases loaded, 4th run on a wild pitch and 5th-7th runs on a 3 run HR. Guillen apparently finally saw too much.

Unbelievable how bad this team is on defense, and Contreras may be even worse.

Get this straight...this team is playing for NOTHING that matters....
Hope you are watching this mess of a defense!!!!
DEFENSE MATTERS.....
The 2006 Cardinals were hurt a lot of the season...how is this JOKE of a team going to win ONE playoff game?
A Perfecto by Buerhle?
I have seen better defense played in Hiawatha Park.
PITCHING AND DEFENSE WINS WHEN IT MATTERS......

THIS TEAM SUCKS!!!!!!

Contreras and Garcia lead White Sox to World Series......I want to know where you score your stuff.

This clueless and listless Contreras with no heart collecting his millions of dollars, I can't STAND!

I don't care if the Sox win every fuckin' game on this road trip; I'm not watching or listening to another game until it's over.

Last post for awhile, my friends. Not that any of you care!

I want to thank Contreras for redirecting my focus to the start of the school year.

C-check,

I just spoke to Witty and he says that it's a good thing because you should consider her feelings too, sometimes. Witty recommends the I Love Money series.

Let's go Sox!

I've never seen such bad defense in my life.

Hey Nix-y! Catch the ball, turn around, then throw the ball to the guy on your team playing 1st. Quit hotdogging it out there and just play baseball ya jag!
