Sox refused arbitration to Dye and Dotel. Unfortunately Dye's bad 2nd half and Dotel's type A status (still can't believe that) made these no brainers. The Panzy and Castro didn't qualify for compensation. http://twitter.com/InsideTheSox/status/6242239019 |

I think alot of free agents watching Orlando Cabrera take a massive paycut last year, would have exercised the arbitration option versus testing the waters this year. Hence, teams are wary of offering arbitration despite the potential draft picks they would receive if player did sign elsewhere. |

If Dotel were a type B they would have offered arb but no team is going to give up a 1st or 2nd rounder for a set-up guy. |

The Type A and B stuff really needs to be re-evaluated. Although this is the league that lets an exhibition game decide what team should have the advantage in the championship, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. |
