I remember one of the Chicago papers use to do something like this a while back. they still might for all I know. Some interesting duels I curious to watch for this year. Here some I'll be watching and posting this year.

Pierre vs Pods - ABs, OBP, Runs etc

Peavey vs Vazquez

Thome vs Sox DH

Fields or Crede vs Teahan

Dammon vs Sox DH

Soriano vs Quentin

Fukedome vs Rios

Dye (if he plays) vs Sox DH

I'll probably think of more as the season goes.

Fun topic here. From just viewing this list, I honestly think the Sox will do better here, which I hope translates into at least 91 victories--my prediction for 2010.

1. Pierre over Pod in OBP and runs scored, which are the two most imortant for me.
2. Peavy: an obvious winner here.
3. Thome tie with Sox DH. One advantage for Sox DH would be the ability to go from first to third in some hitting situations.
4. 2005 Crede definitely over Teahan. 2010 Crede/Field over Teahan?? No way, nod to Teahan.
5. Damon wins here over Sox DH.
6. Soriano's done (IMO). The fact that CQ can HIT a breaking ball makes him the winner here. Seriously though, CQ still had 21 HRs last year. Both are prone to injuries, but CQ will have a very solid year, I believe.
7. Fuka and Rios: tie. I think Rios has more upside, though.
8. Horrible second half of the the last two seasons does it for me. Sox DH over Dye.
