TUCSON, Ariz. -- Second baseman Gordon Beckham has been scratched from the White Sox's lineup Friday because of a tight left side.

Beckham said he felt discomfort during batting practice and later felt tightness while fielding ground balls. He was listed as day-to-day. He didn't believe he injured his oblique muscle. He missed four games in September because of right oblique strain.

"Good thing we have both trainers here," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "I guess (he's) day to day. I don't think it's a big deal, but I don't want to make it bigger. We'll see how he feels (Saturday)."

I've seen tight left side take out so many promising young players....

Without seeing this, I think the Sox could be in real trouble this year!

This season I am not all jacked up...the White Sox were miserable last season...Last I checked, I am not alone as the Opener wasn't sold out as of this past week.
I want to see real baseball...not the crap the Sox throw out there...the team that leaves men all over the bases and can't catch the damned ball or throw it.

What the hell kind of core strengthening program are they running there. Bacon better be training functionally in all planes of motion especially doing some rotational medicine ball work. There is no excuse for a core that is prone to breakdown.
