Pierre lf Pierzynski c Rios cf Konerko 1b Kotsay rf Ramirez ss Teahen 3b Beckham 2b Vizquel dh Vizquel at DH?? Is this a fucking joke?? Vizquel is on the team because of his GLOVE and Ozzie plays him at DH?!? Put Ramirez or Teahen at DH and play Vizquel in the field so you can take advantage of the only skill he has left to offer. Ozzie is having a BAD year. |

Ozzie's mind is already in Atlanta. It'll be joined by the rest of him as soon as the season ends. |

Tonight, Ozzie doesn't have Andruw Jones (stiff neck) & Carlos Quentin (illness) which explains in part why Mark Kotsay's in right field & Omar Vizquel is DH-ing for the first time since 1993 as a Seattle Mariner. |

I know they're short-handed, but a 43 year old .143 hitting DH? Why not use Ja-Y-son Nix? He can not be worse. |

Terry's Peeps wrote: I know they're short-handed, but a 43 year old .143 hitting DH? Why not use Ja-Y-son Nix? He can not be worse. Jayson Nix is on this roster only as Mark Teahen's backup at third base vs. lefties, even though he's supposed to be a good defensive second baseman by trade. Teahen's been a bit of a disappointment at both the plate and defensively so far... As for Jayson, look no further than the end of last season when second baseman Chris Getz, now with the Royals, suffered a sports hernia and whose season was cut short by a week. Instead of playing Nix at second the last week of the regular season, granted meaningless games, the stubborn Ozzie played the lighter-hitting Brent Lillibridge at second the last week in Cleveland & Detroit. Lillibridge is currently at Triple "A" Charlotte, and not exactly hitting the cover off the baseball... |

Or at a minimum put Beckham or Alexei at DH. |

Vizquel is 1 for 3 and has scored the White Sox lone run...Alexei is 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts. Ramirez is leading the team in more than just strikeouts tonight, he's also left 5 men on base. |

Meatpants will be crowing Monday morning about how his pep talk last week helped Beckham emerge from his slump. The 1 time he DH'd this year, Beckham went 0-4 with 2 strikeouts. I wouldn't put a young guy in a slump in the lineup as DH and make him sit on the bench and let him mindfuck himself between at-bats. Beckham strikes me as a guy who needs to be in the field as well to keep from beating himself up between at-bats. |

Former ESPN analyst Steve Phillips told 670 The SCORE's Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch & Steve Rosenbloom on a recent Saturday morning show that he felt Gordon Beckham needed to go back to Triple "A" Charlotte to regain his hitting stroke. I'm not so sure a trip back to the minors considering the lack of production by the reserves & the guys in the minors was a smart idea to begin with... |

This is Beckham's first full season playing in Chicago weather. I think he'll come around as the weather warms up. This could be a perennial issue for Beckham, but that doesn't mean he won't be an all-star caliber player. Mark Teixeira's career OPS in April is .200 points lower than for the rest of the season. Teixeira hit .136 this April with an OPS of .560. His OPS for May so far is .955. And the guy does that every season. |

Basically this just underscores the fact that they failed to go out and sign any sort of (semi) professional hitter who could handle DHing. Perhaps there was a less than robust pool of bats available, but there were many fans pointing this out even on this board. I'm sure some of these guys will heat up, but to piss away the first six weeks with this sorry offense is just inexcusable. Compounding this of course is the fact that the "Big 4" starters have been inconsistent to say the least, and it is probably too late already. White Flag time.. |

The organization sucks.... "Catch Lightning in a Bottle", and if that doesn't work, blame a columnist, talk show hosts or the fans. |

You had Thome begging to come back for almost nothing but the genius we've got managing the club couldn't find a spot in the order for him because he'd rather DH Vizquel and Pierre. It's just going to add insult to injury when Jimmy is whacking important homers and doubles for the Twins in the postseason. |

Beckham went 1-for-4 in the White Sox' 6-1 loss to the Royals, complete with Mt. Guillen's profanity-laced tirade...You'll notice Anthony John Pierzynski's not in the lineup either... |

That was a nice win. Peavy is one competetive bastard. I sure as hell hope Thornton just had a stinger and there is no serious problem with his elbow. Gavin needs to pitch good tomorrow so the Sox can win this series and head to Detroit with a little momentum. |

At the risk of sounding like ASFB, I'm absolutely fuckin' thrilled that they had to pull out all the stops like it was Game 7 of the World Series just to beat the Royals and get to six games under. WOO LIFE! |

If the White Sox get the game in tonight at Comerica Park vs. the Tigers, here's the starting lineup they'll face vs. Detroit's Rick Porcello. WCIU 26 The U is thrilled to be pre-empting "The Insider", "Tyler Perry's House of Payne", "Everybody Hates Chris", "My Wife and Kids" & "George Lopez" to air this crap! 1 Juan Pierre LF 11 Omar "Why is Jayson Nix on this roster?" Vizquel 2B 25 Andruw Jones RF 14 Paul Konerko 1B 51 Alex Rios CF 12 Anthony John "Texas Ranger?" Pierzynski C 20 Carlos Quentin DH 23 Mark Teahen 3B 10 Alexei Ramirez SS The White Sox start Freddy Garcia, if they get the game in tonight at 6:10p on The U... |

Frank Coztansa wrote: SHARK, generally I like your style, but your little quips about Vizquel are quite lame. I don't care, Frank...Omar Vizquel's washed up and he's even worse than Gordon Beckham! I'll keep asking this until Ozzie stops this garbage once and for all. WHY IS JAYSON NIX ON THIS ROSTER if that stubborn S.O.B. for a manager continues to cater to a 43 year-old in Vizquel who is dreadful to watch in the #11 which is supposed to be retired in the first place? VIZQUEL IS FINISHED!!! STOP THIS B.S.!!! |
