This team has shown itself as a inconsistent team in all areas from pitching to hitting and even coaching. I think it's time to turn the page and relieve KW and let Ozzie work with his favorite team the Twins. I know it's May but I don't think this team has the talent anywhere to turn things around.
This team had so much potential but is now just a below average team.

What POTENTIAL?

Another botched up abortion pieced together by Kenny Williams over the Winter with additions like Juan Pierre and Mark Teahen?

The Sox coming into the season allegedly had one of the best starting rotations in baseball and the rest was a crapshoot.

Until they build a dependable farm system, every season is an attempt to catch lightning in a bottle.

It was time to call it over after the last homestand.

The Cell is going to be a ghost town this year...which will lead to a youth movement next year...except there is not all that much talented youth to move to.

I can see this one going bad for an extended period of time.

The wheels are off the wagon and the World Series championship is a million years ago. If this team invested any amount of effort into a farm system than Kenny wouldn't have to get washed up clowns like Pierre and Jones and Kotsay and.....

The beginning of the year was chock full of weird and almost retarded predictions by many...some based on that Jones would be Jones from 2000 and he would be a HoF'er because Ozzie would be his magic elixir.

Oh how wrong some people were.

It is past time to start the formal declaration of "Rebuilding" for this team. Fix the farm system and stop signing Kotsay's, Teahan's and Joneses. The pitching will still be relatively "solid" so that could mask some problems while this "blowing up" phase is begun. This team is no closer to a championship than it was last year or the year before. The window was pretty much 2005-2006. Time for Kenny to stop throwing shit at the wall and seeing if it sticks....that isn't the way to properly GM a team. To much time has been wasted on "lightening in a bottle" and the "Ozzie will make lazy Spanish speaking players not lazy and not 5 years past their prime." myth. This has wasted faaaaar to much quality rebuilding time.

Although it begs the question....does Kenny have a clue on how to "rebuild"?

The fuck? Jones has been solid when Ozzie decides to play him and not Vizquel at DH.

Pierre has been bad, Quentin has been bad, Gavin Floyd has been bad, Kotsay is nothing more than a bench player and he has been bad. Ozzie has been very bad. Teahan has been ok at best, and Chris Getz was traded for some stupid reason or another.

Danks, Rios, Thornton, Konerko, and Santos have been the only bright spots to date.

So we have an argument about Jones who is batting .250 at the moment. But everything else is mishmash of odd bits and parts plus Floyd sucks. And yes, Ozzie has been bad and I was a Chris Getz fan...he could kinda hit and could steal bases. Of course he is gone now.

Does anyone here think that Ozzie will gone after this year or the next? I don't think he likes managing in the AL.

With the time and money left on his deal, plus his relationship with Jerry, Ozzie would have to do a lot worse to not be here next year.

Ozzie wanted this team, and not only has he been bad, but "his" team has been bad. Kenny should not give him hardly anymore say on what personnel to bring in.

True. This is Ozzie's team, through and through. He didn't want Thome (who needs a reliable left handed power bat?) and probably thought little of reaching for Gonzalez. Ozzie should manage and nothing more. The problem is that he was shitty with personnel decisions and is currently shitty with game decisions. This team is horrible on a bad day and above average on a good day. All in all it's the White Sox baseball that we have grown to know and love.

Plus...Gavin Floyd fucking blows.

Floyd = bad
Buerhle = going bad
Peavy = coming back to old form
Danks = stud
Garcia = doing alright
Thorton = stud
Jenks = washed up
Putz = don't know
Linebrink = bad
Santos = promising

Ozzie = needs to go (hopefully will resign)
KW = put on notice that the WS was 5 years ago and things need to change
Walker = fired

Package Jenks and Floyd for someone else. Floyd has lost whatever mojo he had two years ago and is the mirror image of Javy, who is flaming out with the Yankees this year.

I forsee the next several years as being bad, sad and "must miss" baseball on the Southside. :cry:

I am officially calling the season over.

Kenny needs to go, and this is not from a knee jerk reaction it is just that the majority of his work has been mediocre to bad.

The farm system is non-existent and the "major league" team he has compiled is chock full of "guys". They need to move Beckham back to third permanently. Alexei could stay at short with Nix at second or put Alexei at second and find someone better than Vizquel, which can't be that hard.

They need to dump AJ and Buerhle because both are clearly moving into the twilight of their careers. Package Gavin Fraud, Jenks, and CQ for someone, anyone. Maybe the Marlins want to get rid of Hanley Ramirez? (wishful thinking)

Move Teahan to RF, keep Rios at CF and platoon AJones and Pierre in LF.

The bar was set high after the '05 WS and Kenny has failed to achieve anything close to this. I see the Sox battling for third place in the AL Central for a long time coming. Kenny has signed guys who just aren't that good while decimating the farm system. The Twins base everything on fundamentals and sound baseball. I guess those concepts are just foreign to Ozzie and Kenny because this team just cannot and will not execute.

Thank God for the 'hawks because the Sox are must miss TV/radio.

You said last season that you thought KW should be on the hot seat if they didn't make the playoffs this year. Given the collapse, do you think he should be on the way out? Honest question, I'm not trying to be a smartass.

Maybe. He went out and got the team that Ozzie wanted and felt he needed. I don't know if he really wanted to get Pierre or just did because he had faith in Ozzie. Either way, he pulled the trigger on these deals.

It's starting to look like it, and it could get a lot worse before it gets better. This team still can't score unless they hit a homer. Their defense at third base has been brutal even before Jayson Nix's two-error night at third base last night in their 3-2 loss to the Angels and Mark Teahen seems lost. Alexei Ramirez is still maddeningly inconsistent, while Gordon Beckham's going through growing pains at the plate. Beckham hasn't been that bad though at second base...Omar Vizquel's awful to watch in the #11 jersey and hasn't been much better than Beckham! Carlos Quentin's been awful since he broke his wrist in Cleveland and A.J. Pierzynski can't get anyone out...I think you get the picture.

Also, there's nobody worth calling up from the farm system as things stand right now. I doubt seriously that the likes of Brent Lillibridge, C.J. Retherford, Tyler Flowers & Dayan Viciedo are major-league ready to help this team. I think the time has come to back up the truck and face quite a rebuilding project...

Why would the Twins replace Ron Gardenhire?

That doesn't make much sense...I thought Ozzie wanted to succeed the retiring Bobby Cox after this season in Atlanta...

I was purely being sarcastic. Ozzie's constant ass-licking of the Twins prompted this comment.

They are playing just like the Twins...the Twins of the late 70's and early 80's.

The season is over. It really doesn't matter what the Twins are doing. The White Sox are 8 games under .500 heading into June.
