Looks like Kenny is looking around for an alternative to the 3 headed (Vizquel/Nix/Lillibridge) third base monster. Lowell is in the final year of a 3 year deal that pays him $12M this season. The Red Sox would obviously have to pick up most of this to make a deal work. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb/ne ... BHeadlines |

Someone needs to tell Kenny he should be selling, not buying. |

For the most part, they are playing shit teams throughout June. They are also playing 14 games at home, with another 3 in Chicago at Wrigley. They score 6 runs yesterday and Buehrle melts down in the 6th giving up 5 runs. If they aren't within a handful of games of the Twins by July 4th, which I don't think is likely, blow it up. |

The whole premise of "blowing it up" is something different than it used to be as well. Previously, you could re-stock the farm in a good old-fashioned fire sale, but the new economics of baseball make it less likely that you will get an organization's top 10 prospect for a veteran. The fire sale's greatest purpose now is really a salary dump. Do I dare ask .... would you trade Peavy to a NL team in need of pitching? Like the Brewers or the Cardinals? |

If the White Sox are interested in Mike Lowell from the Red Sox, I've got to think Mark Teahen's broken index finger to his throwing hand is more serious than they thought. I've also got to think the duo of Jayson Nix & Omar Vizquel platooning at third base in his absence is nothing more than a stopgap. Besides, now that Brent Lillibridge is here, he'll now backup Alexei Ramirez at shortstop and Gordon Beckham at second base. Douchebag, the way the White Sox are currently structured, they should be selling, not buying. |

If he sells a team, he sells the Bulls, but I don't see that happening anytime soon either. |

Pierre is quietly increasing his average slowly but surely, and he swiped his 20th bag of the year last night. |

He's done this a number of times. Start off pretty bad but end up at .300 He started horrendously slow on the Cubs, and ended up getting 200 hits. Now, he could really do well the rest of the year and it would be a band aid on a broken leg for the Sox.. |

While the Sox are not a cash money maker, every investor has made 10 times their investment, they just haven't "Realized" that income yet and many dont care to. I have said it about 50 times, a large majority of the investors are the same money in the Bulls, which have been a cash dairy, not just a cow, for the past 15 years. If I had you put $50K into Building A and it was not leased all the time and every 3 years I asked you for $2000 to help meet operating costs, you probably would push me to sell it, but if you also had $50,000 in building B and I was sending you checks for $5,000 every year, you wouldn't care so much about the $3000. Plus both Building A and B are worth 50 times what we paid for them! |

Since Reinsdorf's bid to buy the Coyotes 'died', maybe he has some time to pay attention to the White Sox. Lowell would be a great pick-up for any team, and the AL Central is his most likely landing spot, Twins could use his RH bat and 3B glove, same for Detroit and the Cell would be a good place for Lowell's bat. |
