Time to blow it up. Look what happened last time they blew it up, they won a world series because Kenny is such an amazing GM and he knew if he traded for lesser players thats how they would win. Trading C Lee's $10 M for the semi DL scotty pods $1 M was designed to win the World Series. Not signing Maggs for $15 Mill a year and signing the Mostly Dled Dye for $2M was another plan to win the world series, or was it that they just coulodn't come to an agreement and the only 2 decent remianing players were Jeremy Burnitz and Jermaine Dye? I know this because the Cubs could not , or A MCFail, would not signa RF until they dumped Sammy somewhere and by the time they did, it was Jeremy Burnitz as the last guy standing in the School yard. Sure, I could go on and but I think thats enough to piss off Frank. |

They won in 2005 mainly because of starting pitching. Kenny tried to do the same this year, and the pitching outside of Danks and couple of starts by Freddy has been awful. |

Very true. Also, after Takatsu failed as closer in '05, Dustin Hermanson was about as lights out as you could get, wrapping up 30some saves almost overnight. Then, Jenks came up and took over from there. Cotts and Politte were also awesome, so basically if you got 6 innings out of the starter, the game was all but a W for the Sox. Its bad when Cleveland has (i think) 20 wins and 8 of them are against the Sox. |

As opposed to going out and targeting stars or great players and putting him together. Kenny found some good stuff in the scrap heap. (Cliff Pollite and his roids was the best one.) |

Lee wasn't going to be resigned and the Sox needed a leadoff hitter, that was a win win move, not a "Hey lets trade El Caballo for something less" move. Mags still had (at the time) the largest $$ offer ever from the White Sox on the table when he was hurt. It was when he decided to go get surgery in Vienna that the Sox told him to take a hike. And again, they won in 2005 because of pitching. But of course, bigfan will not point out the acquisitions of El Duque, Jose Contreras, and Freddy Garcia and how vital those guys were throughout the season. |

Dave Tallon and the lot are lucky too, no skill there. And btw, the Sox season was likely over 2 weeks ago. I just hope they win the BP cup and the BEARS beat the Packers twice. |

The team was good enough to win without those players, so I would assume they were good enough to win with those players. I don't care if he signed his family members to fill out the roster. The moves won them a world series. |

SHO NUFF All Championship teams have the majority of moves work out. That year it was just a little more than usual. (Dye, Podsednik, El Duque, Contreras, Politte and Cotts). They all had waaaaay better years than the previous season. As opposed to the D-Backs putting Johnson and Schilling together or the Yankees buying top free agents. Id take any World series win. I wont. But I would. |

From MLBTR so take it for what it's worth: The White Sox are open for business, ESPN's Buster Olney heard from multiple executives. Olney specifically names Paul Konerko as someone who is available right now. Check out Olney's info in these three tweets. Back in April, I ran through players who could be available if the Sox became sellers. Konerko can veto any trade, a right that will be granted to A.J. Pierzynski and Mark Buehrle on June 14th and July 6th, respectively. As sellers the White Sox could offer up one of trade season's hottest commodities: relief pitching. Bobby Jenks and J.J. Putz would be prime trade candidates. I'm guessing Scott Linebrink and Tony Pena would not be difficult to pry loose, though Matt Thornton would. The Sox also have plenty of veterans on one-year deals, such as Andruw Jones, Freddy Garcia, Mark Kotsay, Omar Vizquel, and Ramon Castro. |

White Sox General Manager Ken Williams should be on the phone right now with the Anaheim Angels about what he can get in return for Paul Konerko. Ditto for A.J. Pierzynski, Mark Buehrle, Bob Jenks & Gavin Floyd. These are the likeliest guys you could possibly get plenty of prospects in return for right now. The White Sox have nothing on the farm worth calling up, which explains in part why you won't be seeing 2B Gordon Beckham working on his swing down in Charlotte anytime soon. Besides, is it just me or is Beckham's stance like the Red Sox' Kevin Youkilis? That's what my dad, a longtime Sox fan, noticed... |
