I hope White Sox hitters are patient and can take a lot of Stephen Strasburg's pitches the first time through the lineup tonight. Because Nationals' manager Jim Riggleman has SS on a 100 pitch count, I think Strasburg goes 5 innings, allows 2 runs, 4 hits, 1 BB, 4 K's in his third career start. It doesn't seem like much in comparison to what he did to the Pirates in his debut when he struck out 14 in his Nats' debut. |

Here's something interesting that just crossed my mind. Omar Vizquel will have faced Nolan Ryan and Stephen Starsburg. Not too many hitters still around that played in 1993. Ken Griffey Jr just retired. He was a rookie in 1989. Can't think of any others. Even if there are, they might not face Strasburg. So Vizquel faces two of baseball's hardest throwers. One was a rookie in 1966. The other is a rookie in 2010. |
