Too bad for JaYson but I'm ready for the Viciedo-era to begin. If Kenny's not able to swing a trade he won't be unemployed for long. Note to future employers: don't play him anywhere but 2B.

Will Viceido be the regular 3B? I think I read he was playing 3B again after playing 1B to start the season. Our DH options are pretty bad as well with Kotsay/Jones so hopefully he's in the lineup most days.

He did hit .307 with 7 HR in June. I'd prefer to see him get most of his AB's at DH with his defense being suspect.

Let's see, with Nix gone, the 3B options are The Stonehanded Cuban or Omar "I need someone to change my depends" Vizquel. It's painful watching him try to make the throw from 3rd to 1st.

I'll take my chances with the Cuban every day

I think we'll see a platoon there and Viceido hopefully getting more time at DH as well.

Watch him sit on the bench tomorrow night so Ozzie can play the lefty matchup against Strasburg

Did Terry's "guy" tell him about this move, but forgot to tell the listeners?

Bob, turn that frown upside down man, Ozzie and the boyz have the Twins right where they want em. This was the plan. Get 6-7 games back by the middle of June to lull the Twins into a false sense of security and then turn on the after burners and destroy em the rest of the way. The Twins will melt outside in the awful Minnesota heat and humidity this Summer. They were so pampered playing in that dome, they do not know how to play out in the real heat. Sox win the division by 10 games.

I'm going to feel foolish for not noticing this earlier...Is that NSJ in the famous eggplant colored polo during his big TV interview, douchebag?

I'm not sure what it is. It was forwarded to me by an anonymous board user as a suggestion.

Nix said if he clears waivers he would be open to going to the minors. This would give him a chance to work on his defense at 3B. I hope this happens because I think he does have value.

Did Kenny call up Viciedo to showcase him for potential deals??

I think so. These sorts of deals:

I'm very puzzled with the Dayan Viciedo call-up after last night's win over the hapless Pirates in the sense that Dayan was playing FIRST base at Triple "A" Charlotte. Based on where he was playing in Spring Training and what Ranger said on the "Xfinity Feedback Zone Postgame" last night, the perception was that Viciedo was going to be Paul Konerko's heir apparent next year. This considering the fact that Konerko is a free agent after this season.

Then again, even though he's out until the end of July with the broken index finger, Mark Teahen was supposed to be the full-time third baseman when the White Sox traded for him and sent 2B Chris Getz & 3B Joshua Fields to the Royals last winter. I know that Teahen's defense and his offense have been disappointments this season, even before he broke his finger vs. the Rays last month in St. Petersburg. I've got to think if the Sox want Viciedo to play third base full time after all, when he returns, Teahen becomes more of a utility player like he was in Kansas City. For the immediate future, with Omar Vizquel still covering the tabs at third, Brent Lillibridge now becomes your backup shortstop for Alexei Ramirez and your backup second baseman for Gordon Beckham. I think the Viciedo call-up also keeps Beckham on the big club and puts the Charlotte talk to rest once and for all.

I think he was playing 3B recently again in the minors.

I thought I heard the Ranger mention last night on the "Xfinity Feedback Zone" after the White Sox 5-4 win in Pittsburgh that Dayan Viciedo had played ONLY 9 games at third, compared to about 50 at first when he was at Triple "A" Charlotte. I was just on Chicagobreakingsports.com, and Phil Rogers added that Brent Morel, arguably the Sox' top prospect right now, is scuffling since his promotion.

He hasn't played much at 3B, but had been there recently.
