I have heard that the Nats might not be able to trade Dunn now because they asked too much? I have to really take issue with the thought on these statements. Dunn is a free agent next year and is going to be a type A free agent. That's worth 2 solid top draft picks. If you can't get at least that in a trade, why make the deal? yes, you take the risk that he remains unsigned, but assuming someone does sign him you get something back.

This is all the fault of D Lee. If he were having a decent season maybe he would have bumped dunn off the list of type A free agents.

Unless you're afraid he accepts the arbitration figure which is certain to be quite hefty.

No way Dunn accepts arbitration because he will get more on the open market.

The Sox and Yankees both tried to trade for Berkman (the Yankees unfortunately won) which shows Rizzo is asking too much for Dunn. Enjoy paying the remainder of his contract and those two draft picks that MAY help you in 2014 or 2015 (if you still have a job).

SI_JonHeyman todays early predictions: dunn (#chisox), bautista (giants), lilly (dodgers), berkman (yankees - that 1 is easy)

Wow Sox offered Flowers + E. Jackson for Dunn but Nats wanted Viciedo + E. Jackson for Dunn and KW said no.
