Well, at least we'll have the chance to see a new exhibit on display in Chicago for a little while. I guess Sue at the Field Museum was getting old. |

I will gladly take Manny's bat over Kotsay or Teahen. |

Manny will be on a salary drive. You'd be a fool to give him a multiyear contract at this point, but all the Sock are playing with here is the Chairman's money. When he first got traded to the Dodgers, for those few months he was unbelievable. I just noticed he only has 8 dongs (in limited ABs), hopefully some of those Ravine warning-track shots turn into big flies at Comiskular. Where does he hit? 5th? |

Manny should hit 5th or 6th to start. Keep Rios 3rd. |

My only issue with Manny-Konerko-Quentin in the 3-4-5 slots (in whatever order) is you have 3 slow footed bad baserunners consecutively again. Could be seeing a lot of double plays |

I can only see this going two ways: complete fiasco or our offense clicks to such a degree that it erases the deficiencies in the bullpen. But, yeah, remember when we got Griffey and everyone was all excited until after 2 months we saw him hit one double, draw two walks, and strikeout 20 times. He should bat 3rd, if only to get more at bats. |

Post subject: | Re: Manny Griffey, Jr |
I would actually bat him 3rd, as well Pierre Vizquel* Manny Konerko Rios Quentin Ramirez* Pierzynski Bacon * Ramirez 2nd vs LHP Rios could break up the flotilla of lumbering guys in the middle of the order.. Quentin will take some pitches behind him, still allowing the running game. |

Pretty sure Manny ending up w/ the Sox means I've checked out as a fan for the rest of the year. It may be meatballish of me to say, but even if you get rid of the P.E.D. garbage he's still quit on his teams on more than one occasion. I'm sure he'll do better than Teehan or Kotsay, but I just can't seem to bring myself to cheer for such an unlikeable (in my opinion) guy. |

Unless you are somehow feeling all moral about the steroids thing, you should absolutely love this move if you are a Sox fan. The Sox are in trouble and need a great run in order to make it interesting with the Twins. Manny is such a talent that if he turns it on for a month he can give them a lineup that can be very tough to pitch against. If he sucks, or doesn't care, then the Sox were in trouble anyways. It would be different if the Sox were leading the division but this is the exact type of chance that they needed to take and one that shows that once again Kenny Williams is a really good GM. |

He's not going to ruin the team, or be a problem in the clubhouse. Guillen is such a lightning rod for the media anyway. They got this guy for nothing but cash. Roided up or not, the dude can still go on tears and is one of the best 2 strike hitters in the game. A declining Manny is still a .300/.400/.500 hitter, and it keeps the Kotsay/Teahen/Jones shitfest nailed to the bench where it belongs. |

Kenny has picked up Manny and Rios in back to back years without giving up anyone. |
