As a long time Sox fan, I was impressed with Tuesday night's teaming of Stoney and Tom " Wimpy " Paciorek. Even admitting that I long for the Hawk Harrelson retirement party, I was surprized at the instant chemistry and insight with a dash of humor added. Maybe it's just me but, Stone sounded relaxed and energized with Wimpy as his sidekick, compared to his role working with that old gasbag Hawk. |

Stone is exceptional. Hawk dominates their brodcasts far too much. Having more Steve Stone was a nice bonus. I don't think that TP is an exceptional broadcaster, but he's fine. Giving Stone a friendlier partner in the booth, made the broadcast better. As the season finishes up and the Sox are eliminated, Hawk will no doubt be especially surly and the broadcasts are likely to be adversely affected by his attitude. Hawk's really not a very professional broadcaster. |

Sometimes I just wish Whimpy would just have a grabber while describing the action |

Wimpy is terrible. So is DJ & Frank. The White Sox stable of announcers is second rate. |

Not saying it's my 'dream team ' of announcers...but I think Hawk in general raises the tension level to unbelievable amounts. obviously in a pennant race the games themselves are going to be dramatic, but I felt like Wimpy and Stone really made it seem more relaxed. While a lot of the time Wimpy seems really corny, I think I prefer that to Hawk's silence during an impending defeat or bitching about the umps |

I thought it was a lot of fun. They were playing off one another, cracking jokes, explaining some interesting things, etc. They were cheering for the home team. Maybe it would be grating after a few months, but it was entertaining for a night, and I think it would play out well for longer than that. |

With Ken Harrelson on family leave & Steve Stone observing the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah, your announcers for White Sox/Tigers on Comcast SportsNet tonight & tomorrow are Tom Paciorek & Frank Thomas. Not exactly Hall-of-Fame quality, but I'd like to hear more of "Wimpy" (or is it "Duke" or "Big Bob"?) next year... |

As much as Hawk has annoyed me lately, I have to admit I missed him last night. I didn't really want to hear the happy talk late in that game when I was super pissed at falling another game back. |

I'll tell ya something, Bagels, you know who was great at telling stories about Yaz? That man right there with the Cubs logo in his avatar. That's right, Elmhurst Steve. He's the best I've ever seen at talking about how Yaz single-handedly won it for the Carmines in 1967 and how the White Sox couldn't beat the Senators or A's to close things out. |

Howard was huge in the second game as they kicked the shit out of Gary Peters. And I think Joel Horlen was just terrible in the last game. |

Yaz went 7/8 with a Homer and 6 RBI in the final 2 game series with it all on the line....that's being clutch!! |
