If Uribe has a great World Series does he get a Statue? or at least a day to honor him? |

Since he's on the Giants w/ Aaron Rowand, maybe they'll get a statue of them 69ing each other. |

No, the Sox only honor players with statues when their team chokes away an 8 game lead in September. |

As a Sox fan, I think there are already too many statues. That said, if Paulie were to stick around and do what he's done the last few years, I could see the #14 getting retired and maybe a statue. |

Shit, we've got nearly as many numbers retired as the Yankees. Baines? Pierce? Aparicio? Fox? Ted Lyons? These guys were all nice players. Lyons, Fox, and Aparicio are Hall of Famers, but they're borderline guys at best. I'd be fine with just Appling, Minnie, and Frank. Appling was a great hitter for a long, long time. He played on a lot of terrible teams, but shortstops generally didn't hit like that in his time. And he was with the Sox forever. He's like the White Sox version of Ernie Banks. Minoso was the first black guy in town. He's a vastly underrated player. He probably should be in the Hall anyway, but he'd definitely be there if he hadn't lost prime years at the beginning of his career due to his skin color. I know ASFB disagrees, but he was a better player than Billy Williams. And Frank is simply the greatest player in franchise history. |

There's not a skilled craftsmen or statue maker that can properly recreate Uribe's bulbous behind. |

I never thought I'd mention this and Juan Uribe in the same breath, but if he continues to get clutch hits in this World Series, he may very well merit consideration for MVP honors...Seriously. |

the juan uribe statue should be of his swing followthrough when he swings from the heels at a slider down in the dirt. you won't see him appearing on an episode of "cheaters" anytime soon. |

You know, when he is eighty fucking years old and the Cubs still haven't won a World Series since 1908. |

It sure was. I think bigfan would agree that it would be nice if he got a statue to recognize that accomplishment. Podsednik too. |
