Adam Dunn is an OAF!!!! The second coming of Dave Nicholson. Dan Bernstein...the baseball STATHEAD...was just so elated when the Sox signed this big goof....Bernstein's second coming of Babe Ruth.... Stick with those STATS, Bernstein....Make MLB some sort of INTELLECTUAL experience!!!! |

Serious question... Are Sox fans actually worried about Dunn? |

Adam Dunn is what he is....He is not some Savior of this team....He is Joe Borchard who actually made it...maybe he can hit the scoreboard in the Cell a few times this Summer.....He sure as shit is not this great ballplayer Scrabble Champion Baseball Stathead Dan Bernstein lubes up and slams the salami over. |

Dunn is playing right into my Bad player scenario. Could he hit 35 HR's, 100 RBI's, basically his lifetime average stats. Sure, but when he goes 3-4, with 2 HR's and 6 RBI in a 12-2 rout of Baltimore in July. did it really matter. He is on the verge of doing almost nothing for the first month of the season as the team goes 1-9 over last 10? Below average is one thing, doing nothing is another. |

Your description of Dunn at the plate reminds me of the career of RON SANTO!!!! |

I find it interesting that the New York Mets have the same record as the White Sox and the New York press and fans look at them as a pile of crap....but here in Hooterville there is always going to be some grand future for a team that can't play the game....the weather will get warm...Peavy will come back...Williams will make some blockbuster trade...the Shortstop and Left Fielder will actually play defense... Never ever let what you are actually watching determine anything......be a FANBOY....BELIEVE...borrow the 'It's Gonna Happen" sign from your Cub Fan neighbor!!!! |

Terry's Peeps wrote: Bucky Chris wrote: Serious question... Are Sox fans actually worried about Dunn? Only the dumb ones. I just heard a call to the station that came up with a clever pun of a nickname "Special K".... Obviously we had to know this was going to be coming. Even though it has been explained time and time again that he will strike out and that players slump. Adam Dunn is going to be just fine. Being in The Cell is only going to help. Trivia: Adam Dunn got his start playing for the Rockford Reds. Johhny Damon also stared here in Rockford, playing for the Rockford Royals. |

He had a really good start, then had his appendix taken out and hasn't been great since. Call me crazy, but it is probably difficult to swing a bat when recovering from surgery. Considering his track record, he will play more like he did pre-surgery rather than post-surgery. Your definition of "bad player" is weird. Who cares about the situation? If he has the skills he has the skills. By your logic players that do well on bad baseball teams are "bad players". |

Matt Holiday missed like 19 weeks or something. Adam Dunn missed 4 games. Chicago Tough. |

Aaron Rodgers noticed he had appendicitis...he they removed his own appendix, fixed it, put it back and continued driving the Pack down the field for yet another one of his amazing touchdowns. |

Larry Walker Jim Edmonds Scott Rolen and this year Holliday and Berkman Glad they keep locking up "the other guys" |

It is not an organ. The key characteristic of an organ is a group of cells that perform a specific function (or multiple) for the body. Please share with the class what function an appendix serves. |

Oh look, a Boilermaker Rick post has people engaged in a mind-numbing semantic debate that goes nowhere; I have never seen this happen on this message board. |

Blame spanky for pointing out that an appendix is not an organ in the strictest definition of the term off a joke post.

Adam Dunn has traditionally started off slow. This was to be expected. |

Starting slow is one thing. Hitting a buck forty without even walking here and there is another. |
